.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About World Party.............Welcome to the Official World Party MySpace site............... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all, I have just watched this documentary at this address.... http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ Would really like to hear anyone/everyone's views on this.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- World Party has been hailed as a glorious mixture of musical styles from the Fab Four to the Fab Five (and maybe even Six), with Karl Wallinger's abiding love of melody face-up at all times. Which makes a change from it being face-down like it was last thursday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2006 marked the return of World Party, with the whole World Party catalogue remastered. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 2006 album and DVD "Dumbing Up" ... stuffed full of additional never heard before songs, live footage and much more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From March to September World Party played live shows in the USA as a three piece and then as a seven piece. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 2010 The band are currently back in London working on the next collection of songs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The hope was to release the new cd as the band started their September 2007 tour of Australia and New Zealand with Steely Dan (as a five piece!). But hey this is World Party and the new songs won't see daylight til 2010.In the meantime, Seaview Records have also steamed World Party archive material, covers, live versions and demos. There will also be brand new World Party stuff in 2010, I mean we would say there will be a new World Party cd, but who knows what it is we're meant to be selling you right now........downloaded mp3s, USB sticks or vinyl.......!!!???? We will, however, be back..............

.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We had a great time out on the road with the full band on the US tour in August and September 2006! It was a great year! We played SXSW and Bonnaroo, opened for Steve Miller and played by rivers and in town centers, clubs, sports halls and baseball pitches. Had a great time at the Roxy in LA, at Park West in Chicago and at The Irving Plaza in NYC, it seemed like we had never been away... We released the Best In Show CD which contains the best known World Party tracks and have streamed tracks online of some live versions and studio demos from the vaults....We went on tour with Steely Dan through September 07 down in Australia and New Zealand. Check out www.worldparty.net for details... In September 2009 we revisited the US playing at the Bumbershoot Festival, Seattle, then on to Portland, Oregon where we played the Doug Fir Lounge. In October 09 we moved on to San Diego, playing at Anthology, then the El Rey Theatre in LA where Guy Chambers joined us on keyboards, Jeremy Stacey on drums, Tim Smith on Bass. Finally, we played an outdoor show during some seriously stormy weather at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, San Francisco.
