  • Bio

I was born and raised in London, came here to New York about 8-9 years ago and now I'm a musician. That's about it. Devilish details include a few tours in Europe, Canada and the US, as well as umpteen gigs with a variety of my fave musicians and bands in the city. For example - Lage Lund, Rodney Green, Bryn Roberts, Mingus Band, Samuel Torres, Mike Stern, Ingrid Jensen, Chris Potter, Geoff Keezer, John Benitez, Samuel Torres, Eddie Gomez, Daphnis Prieto, Ari Hoenig, Seamus Blake, Aaron Parks, Alan Ferber, John Ellis, Peter Mazza, Jonathan Kreisberg and many more. I have two CD out as a leader - It's For You - Sirocco, 2004, although good luck trying to get it from that apparently defunct label; and Promises, on NineteenEight.com. I'm also a sideman on CD's by the following artists: Pedro Giraudo, Tim Garland, Geoff Keezer, Ari Hoenig, Jonathan Kreisberg, Alan Ferber, Sean Wayland and Peter Mazza. In my other life I work with a variety of singer songwriters, including an exhaustive world tour with Rufus Wainwright, a record with Harper Simon, and a concert in Tokyo with Sufjan Stevens. The New CD, Promises, will be available at www.nineteeneight.com from April 3rd. ........ .. ..........

Let's see, there's my solo project, which features Lage Lund on Guitar, Aaron Parks on Piano, Orlando le Fleming on Bass and Rodney Green or Ari Hoenig on Drums. And then I'm in a few other bands, including those led by: Ari Hoenig, Jonathan Kreisberg, Rodney Green, Mr. Vivo, Lage Lund, Rufus Wainwright
  • Influences

Early influences (discovered through my parents and teachers) that have stuck with me include The Beatles, Getz, Evans, Cannonball, Bird, Jarrett, Ellington, Herbie, Chick. Later on Rosenwinkel and Chris Potter. And now, I'm mostly influenced by my peers: Lage Lund, Rodney Green, Ari Hoenig, Jaleel Shaw, Miguel Zenon, Walter Smith.
