Vivien Scotson has toured all over the UK: she has performed in Ireland, Wales and Italy, aswell as the Highlands and Islands. Vivien was recently asked by Fran Healy (Travis front man) to join him on stage to sing a duet with him, " Sing Me To Sleep Tonight". She sang on stage with Fran at Glasgow's Fruitmarket as part of Celtic Connections festival 2011. Vivien has also written with and performed on stage with Marti Pellow, opened for Sandi Thom, Phil Cunningham and Ali Bain and toured the UK with country western star, Charlie Pride. Vivien Scotson's new album will be released in October 2011 , featuring Goldfrap's, Angie Pollock , Laura Durrant, and Robbie WIlliams band member, Melvin Duffy. Hi Vivien, I was being interviewed on Terry Ferdinand's folk show on Monday (Bishop FM) and he played your beautiful song 'The lights go out'. I was stunned, what a wonderful track! Bio:
Vivien Scotson is from Glasgow, and was brought up in Carmunnock. Vivien has toured the UK and behond; performing all down the UK, as far as Wales, Ireland and Italy. Recentlt Vivien joined Travis front man, Fran Healy, on stage for a duet, at the Celtic Connections music festival 2011. Vivien Scotson first toured with country & western star Charlie Pride, then toured with and opened for acts such as Donnie Munro (Run Rig) and Sandi Thom. She has performed and written with other big names such as Marti Pellow and Linda Lewis and has opened for Chris Difford, Paul Young, Ali Bain and Phil Cunningham, to name a few. Vivien’s songs are now also being regularly recorded and performed by other artists.
Her new album is due for release in October 2011. Vivien has just finnished producing adn recording a limited edition EP, "Templefield on Colonsay", for sale only on the Island of Colonsay and at the Colonsay Folk Festival this year. Vivien is perforing a concert there on the 17th of September.
