  • Bio

I learnt to play fiddle and whistle with Frank McArdle of Comhaltas in Glasgow. Thanks to Frank and the encouragement of my grandmother Edith and Uncle Lindsay, within a few years I was playing most weekends with the St Roch's Ceili Band. I've played Irish music since my childhood, Scottish music from my early teens, and traditional/folk music from just about anywhere else they play the fiddle since my late teens. I released a CD of my own compositions in 2007 - it's available from many web outlets. I got a nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle) at the beginning of 2008, and quickly got hooked - I've just released a CD of Celtic music for nyckelharpa. I've also been playing gaita galega (Galician bagpipes) for the past couple of years.

Now it’s more fun to be a bagpipe-player than ever: choose your key, choose your sound, blow or don’t – have more freedom on stage and in studio. With redpipes - the first stage-suitable electronic bagpipe.
