Welcome
Hi! For those that can't find my site then I'm also here. I'm a vibraphonist and dulcimer player, having worked with Orphy Robinson, Pat Thomas, Nana Tsiboe, Andy Hamilton, Gary Crosby, Tony Kofi, Robert Mitchell, Quantic Soul Orchestra and the Poets of Rhythm among others. I also compose and do educational work.
It's always great to hear from people, so if you're in the East Midlands [Derby/Nottingham/Leicester] area let me know!
I admit that I'm rubbish at replying to comments. I won't spam your page with gigs - so please don't spam mine. Just invite me instead.
If you know me or want to talk about my/your work, you're much better off leaving me a message [to which I'll respond quicker]...
Let me enter the world of commerce briefly:
- Buy music from me directly. It'd be so nice if you did.
- And if you felt like it, you could listen to all of my stuff on Last.fm
- OR, if you're that way inclined, admit you like me on Facebook.
And... we're done.
Who do I work with?
WELL.
I have a trio that is unimaginatively called Corey Mwamba | Dave Kane | Joshua Blackmore - unsurprisingly that's with
- Dave Kane: bass
- Joshua Blackmore: drums
And I have duos with Ms Julie Bernstein, Mr Walt Shaw, Mr Orphy Robinson, and Mr Robert Mitchell.
Then there's Argentum: a quintet that has so far involved
- Robert Mitchell: piano
- Deborah Jordan: voice
- Robin Mullarkey, Michael Mondesir, Steve Lawson: bass guitar
- Cheryl Alleyne, Josh Blackmore, Shane Forbes: drums
Then there's the lovely people-like network of people that populate the Symbiosis Ensemble [some of whom did Nature's Glory, Fancy's Child, and all of whom are beautiful friends]:
Bea Udeh, Kirstin Oliver, Mark Miller, John Morris, George Grignon, Lucy Smith, Shabaka Hutchings, Andy Maclean, Charlie Umney, Tracy Sutcliffe, Walt Shaw, Zigashane Ntalemwa, Kokumo, Janelle Xavier, Helen Martin, Laura Zobel, Caroline Eaton, Oli Matthews, Alan Jenkins, Ellen Omdal Milsom, Ling Peng, Nick Jones, Native, Josh Blackmore, Delano, Wayne Scott, Gary Morris, Cornelius Wright, Nigel Williamson, Adrian Blissett, Dave Anderson, Hammie, Mellow "Baku/Harmony" Astreivh, Jon Samworth, Alix Hoste, Kate Rounding, Paul Lawley... and on into the East/West Midlands rainforest of creatives...
Oh, and occasionally I drift into [and out of] other people's bands, like the one run by The Mitchell [aforementioned] and Arun Ghosh's lovely stuff.
And I play on my own.

Bio
I create music using vibraphone, dulcimer, electronics and small instruments. My music contains elements of jazz, folk from different countries, and electronica. I'm all about the communication and the expression of life in sound. I'm a pretty friendly chap. -

a chap with a beautiful new instrument that has CHARACTER! Not one of these shiny yet voiceless wonders I keep hearing...
