Festival Zmaj ma mlade / Postojna

The 14th summer cultural festival Zmaj 'ma mlade is organized by the Mladinski center Postojna (Postojna Youth Centre) and sponsored by Postojna Student's Club and by the Postojna Commune. The festival is a collection of various cultural happenings, bonded by the organizer's intention to embetter the cultural offer of the town with quality events.

All these years and in particullary in the last seven when it covered the whole month, the festival has been much wished-for as a necessary complement to the cultural offer of our town. The organizers wish to assure all the visitors of the pleasant summer month spent in good company, of enjoyment of cultural and entertaining events, and to all the young and those who would like to participate, we offer actively spent leisure time and possibilities of co-creating performances. They take place on different locations in Postojna , the main stage being put in the very centre of the town.

The festival is kind of thematically organized: Tuesdays are intended for shows, Wednesdays for world music, Thursdays are reserved for theatrical performances, Fridays for adult population, Saturdays for rock concerts, Sundays for humor and sport. Every Saturday afternoon we organize workshops for children, that are followed by performances for children. We are sure that everybody will find something for him/herself in the festival programme.

The festival is strictly non – profit and is every year organized by young enthusiasts that believe that without the festival Postojna would be a dull town without its true summer tourist image, and this is precisely what drives us on to create one of the biggest and most resounding events in the Notranjska area. In our perseverance we are encouraged by visitors to the festival who say that it gives them what they have long been searching for elsewhere and therefore they gladly accept the Dragon's company.
