    .. .......... ............Hey guys :).. The best thing about Who's your mama NOW? is that we absolutely enjoy playing together! We are a 5 piece Edinburgh band, influenced by blues, funk, jazz and soul (amongst other things). .. The band's ideal is to blend music from various cultures to put a new slant on the established musical traditions. "Your Mama" believes that this brings people together and allows people to appreciate, through music, how diverse our world is... The band was originally formed in April 2008 ... The band mostly plays in Edinburgh, Scotland, but also likes to tour. In 2008 "Yer Ma" performed at the Fringe in Edinburgh, on the blues trail during the Maryport Blues festival(Jul 2008), represented the UK at the Balkan Youth Festival in Bulgaria(Sept2008), and triumphantly finished the year with a Christmas and New Year tour of Portugal(Dec2008-Jan2009). We also recorded a 4track demo which you can hear in our music player..... 2009 has been dedicated to live performances, a summer tour in Portugal and writing and recording new material.We have an EP in the making, planned for release in April 2010, combined with a music video to celebrate 2years of WYMN...     So why "Who's your mama NOW"?...in a time when bands seem to have conformed to names in "The Whatevers" format, our name surely stands out. But what's the story behind it?.. Well, I've been in a few bands - playing different styles of music, with variable success. However there's always been one thing in common : people kept asking me : "So, who's your man in the band?".. They kinda accepted that a girl cannot stand her own ground and HAS to be someone's girlfriend to be a part of a successful band..... I am by no means a die-hard feminist, but I believe music has no colour or sex : the only thing that counts is a musician's ability and hard work:) ..
