Bio
.. .. .. .. Somewhere an old CPU fan is humming, .. Tired, overworked it is synched to the strumming, .. Of a five string guitar and its six finger picking, .. And the mumbling of words that are sweet yet unfitting, .. With a digital murmur and a rocking chair creek, .. This twisted of discos becomes now complete... .. I’m the Sweet Chap, a producer, songwriter and performer from Brighton, South England. I wrote and recorded an album called Disco For A Domestic. .. I came to London with my record, and was signed by a little indie record label called Protest Recordings. They were an internet based record label, and one of the first of their kind - in fact possibly the only one of their kind at the time... My album was to be one of the first available as a download only. Protest Recording and I thought we were pioneers of a new future in music. We released singles, made videos (seen on this profile), toured the UK and were having a great time. .. We were then told that my single Rummage had been chosen as 'single of the week' in the NME. It couldn't get any better for an up and coming artist and record label... But then came the dawn of the free music website and the eve of the free download. Protest Recordings simply couldn’t compete any longer against a new downloading generation. They eventually called it a day... .. As for Disco For A Domestic, well the music is still out there, hiding in the corners of the Web amongst domain names and bit torrents; search and you will find..... .. I've gone on to write lots of new material and my latest project is called ‘Huh?’ These songs are thought provoking but arbitrary in their meaning; ambiguous but profound I guess. I'm uploading new tracks from this project randomly so keep an eye and ear out. .. Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy them. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -
