COSMOPOLIS WOMAN BLUES – 2000 My Space plays and counting…
    DeLillo Silver Brazilians

“I’m standing at the airport with my laptop in my hand…”

A 145 second treatise on power, sex and life in the corporate lane in the form of a Sun-esque rockabilly song.
Inspired by the Don DeLillo novel Cosmopolis, ‘Cosmopolis Woman Blues’ is taken from the second E.P Fender Car Disaster and is a classic example of The Silver Brazilians’ ‘sho nuff f**ked up’ take on ‘stripped to the chassis hoodlum rhythm & blues’.
You can also dance to it.

    “A surfabilly Clash…” (NME)
“A lovely cracking little band” (Andrew Loog Oldham)
“Rockin’ 50’s rhythms with a 60’s beat sensibility” (Shindig!)
“Shades of Lennon’s amphetamine loaded Hamburg period…” (The Boiler Room)
    “Inglorious boogie bastards” (Island Life)

THE SILVER BRAZILIANS 3rd BOXING DAY SHINDIG

    Photobucket

In the three short years since their live debut supporting The Charlatans in the summer of 2007 they’ve headlined the Strummerville Foundation for New Music event in Hollywood California, released three E.P’s and had their song Kate Winslet deemed ‘Coolest song in the world’ by Springsteen guitarist and Sopranos star Little Steven Van Zandt on his New York radio show Little Steven’s Underground Garage.
2010 had seen The Silver Brazilians make their first foray into Europe with dates in Germany and Sweden and support slots with the likes of The Godfathers, The Jim Jones Revue, The Blockheads and Wilko Johnson.
The ‘Zils’ round off this action packed year with their 3rd Christmas Shindig at the venue where it all began – The Cannon in Newport Pagnell on Boxing Day – Sunday 26th of December.
The fun starts at 7.30 and goes on till midnight with classic rock n roll, 60’s beat, garage punk, rockabilly and mod sounds spinning all night from the decks of D.J Del Johnson.
These nights pack out fast so get there early! It’s just £5 entry but absolutely FREE before 8.30pm.

Please put them on again soon....”
