This Hot Rockin’ Blues band’s growing reputation for exciting & enthusiastic performances is fast catching on & capturing great acclaim with live music lovers in & around the London Blues circuit. The band always delivers to its audiences an electric mix of good time blues & boogie, with a driving & dynamic set of original tunes & popular standards old & new. A fiery guitarist & vocalist hailing from the west midlands, Rik delivers smoking hot blues guitar mixed with a raw emotive vocal style. Rik’s music combines the many styles & showmanship of the classic blues legends, from old time blues & roots to a more contemporary rock orientated sound. From this melting pot of idea’s, each member of the band enjoys the freedom to stretch themselves musically whilst locking together to provide the solid foundations of a tight performing unit. In order to make such great music happen, Rik calls upon some of the finest players around. Rik’s wife Helen Martin plays excellent drums whilst also providing a superb front line vocal. Bassist Alan O’Conner, Rik’s guitarist brother Wayne Martin, guitarist “Smokin” Ross Ewart, drummer Fabio Iacono, bassist Barry Pethers & the big red organ of Tony Imbierski are but a few of the excellent musicians that regularly share the stage & make up the Rik Martin Band.
