We are a band called The Phoenix Foundation. We enjoy long walks in the gravy in our salami gumboots. We spewed forth in the heady days leading up to the Y2K global crisis. We’ve since released some albums, EP’s and composed sound tracks for two feature films: Eagle Vs Shark & Boy. We have achieved all of this without ever resorting to witch craft or skullduggery. We’ve just released our new album Buffalo. We are rather chuffed with what the Guardian has said about it:

    Gravy lollipops .. .. .. .. .. .. The Phoenix Foundation recorded their debut album ‘Horsepower’ with Lee Prebble at The Surgery in Wellington, New Zealand. The gruelling late nights and scurvy resulted in one of the most acclaimed New Zealand albums of the year. ‘Horsepower’ was the only album to be nominated for ‘Best Album’ at both The New Zealand Music Awards (aka the Tuis) and The Bnet Awards. It was also voted the ‘Best NZ Album’ of the year by nzmusic.com and was the only New Zealand album selected in The Listener's ‘Top Ten Albums’ by Nick Bollinger (Listener/Radio NZ). ..
