Bio
Hailing from the outskirts of Manchester, The Lost Lines were formed in late 2005, though the history of the band stretches back into the last century. The original incarnation of the band took shape when Jooch persuaded Daz to take up the drums and along with friend Mike Vella, formed Off The Road. They later met Dunc and strode out to play the local pub & club scene and other prestigious venues, such as Strangeways prison. Acid House proved to be the downfall of the band as they abandoned guitar music in the haze of the late 80's and took to DJing in Manchester and beyond. After the inevitable come-down, Jooch and Dunc joined 7-piece reggae/soul/funk outfit Soma. Hotly tipped to succeed the Modays, they were offered deals but cunningly side-stepped the manipulators in favour of self-control and a 3 month excursion to Amsterdam to spread the word. Needless to say, this proved a fruitless, nay foolhardy venture and the trail ended back on the shores of Blighty. After settling into a period of raising homes and families, Jooch and Dunc reformed the song-writing partnership and created enough ideas worthy of more than an empty room and an acoustic guitar. A chance meeting with original drummer Daz gave them the impetus to form a band who could bring the monster to life and recover some of those lost lines. They were lucky enough to have several musician-type friends and were joined by Dunc's brother Chris, local singer Dave (Scouse Dave) Tilley and Craig Knowles on keyboards. With no set musical agenda and influences that stretch back to 50's rock and roll and pull in virtually everything since, the Lost Lines transcend any notion of genre. The hope is to continue the long tradition of live music with soul and passion and avoid the pitfalls of categerisation. There's no crazed ambition - just a need to make music ,give people a good time and hopefully have a few themselves along the way. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..........Myspace Layouts.. - ..Myspace Editor.... -
