............ ....Myspace Layouts.. at Pimp-My-Profile.com / ..Crimson clouds.. ..The Hanley Tree based in Edinburgh, formed in 2006, started with Annette writing and recording as a solo artist, with the intention of creating her first solo album. The members were introduced over a short period of time as a growing project, hence the name ‘The Hanley Tree’. The Hanley Tree describes their musical style as ‘Adult Contemporary’ gearing towards the more mature experienced musical ears. The band sees themselves as an umbrella in the future for all things artistic and for the music to grow in many diverse and challenging directions. The Hanley Tree consists of: ANNETTE HANLEY (38) – Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist Former Singer of Edinburgh three piece indie rock band Stellar, Annette was part of the song writing partnership. Having gained a wealth of experience and knowledge from that partnership, she has now been writing and recording as a solo artist over the past few years, experimenting both musically and lyrically. Annette was first seriously introduced to music playing the trombone at the age of ten, involved in orchestras and completing grading exams throughout her teenage years. As a Writer, Annette feels great inspiration from her classical background, especially when writing her melodies. Miss Hanley is well known in the Edinburgh music scene having played most music bars in the town. Annette’s eclectic influences vary from all genres of music and styles including Shawn Colvin, Dixie Chicks, Crowded House, Radiohead, Keane and KT Tunstall. MIKEY CAMERON ( 43) – Drums Mikey, also formerly part of Stellar is a well recognised figure in the Edinburgh Music Scene, he has worked with multiple musicians and bands over the past few decades including original bands Rude, Dr Octopus, Magic Bus and Megalith. Not only is Mikey known for his drumming skills and playing any other instrument he can get his hands on, he is currently running his own recording studio, completing numerous albums for well known musicians in Edinburgh. Currently Mikey feels most challenged with Miss Hanleys’ song writing capabilities in “The Hanley Tree”. Mikeys influences are David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Brian Eno, Erik Satie and all of the Japan members. RAYMOND KWIECINSKI (42) – Bass Guitar Ray originally started playing six-string electric guitar at the age 16 and was in several band line ups playing original material. He then changed direction and joined a local African Hi-life and Reggae band as their Sound Engineer, which then developed to taking on the role of Percussionist. Having previously worked with Annette Hanley in ‘Stellar’ as sound engineer, Ray was delighted to be asked to join Annette’s new project ‘The Hanley Tree’ in October 2006 as bass guitarist, giving Ray and Mikey (life long friends since the age of three) the opportunity to work together once again as a solid unit. Mr Kwiecinski’s influences include Bowie, Muse and Sting.
