The band orginally was made up of five brothers whose early gigs were as support to their fathers act. Al Davey was a well known comedian on the South Wales circuit & the boys honed their musical skills as they accompanied him around the valleys.
Quite a few years & Hundreds of gigs later, the band is still going strong & is still made up of two brothers - Tramp plays guitar & vocals ,and Baldie plays lead guitar, and Drummer Steve Roberts who has been with the Dopeys for 15 years. The newest addition to The Dopeys is Tramps son Ian, who now plays bass guitar in the band The Dopeys are known for their classic rock sound, which is heavily infulenced by Thin Lizzy.

Wow, all that I can say is WOW! The Dopeys rocked the Cardiff Arms and when I say rocked the Cardiff Arms I mean they really rocked the Cardiff Arms!
This band will never disappoint, with their rock credentials that are second to none and live in my mind directly next to such acts as Black Dog, Celtic Pryde (Regional Bands) and many multi platinum acts that are touring the world!
With drums and guitar that quite literally surge through your soul, the Dopeys are legends that define the art of Rock Music. The Cardiff Arms always prides itself on acts that will set you alight inside, Thanks to the band for an awesome performance tonight!
