Bio
In a music scene laden with synth pop and the jangling of indie guitars, London quartet DEEDS OF THE NAMELESS (aka DOTN – a reference to legends of thankless chivalry) are sticking to their guns with soaring, honest rock. The outfit have been described as Black Sabbath playing The Beatles. In truth, the diversity of the DOTN sound comes from the band's upbringing of Billy Joel and Nirvana in equal measure. It will rock and you will sing it on the way home. The brothers Bueno share guitar and vocal duties, Ben providing a raw delivery of heartfelt melancholy whilst Richard's smooth tones offer a contemporary edge. The band's infectious melodies are founded upon a rhythm section of the identical Kennedy twins - bass player Steve & drummer Dan. All in, DOTN have been jamming together since the tender age of 15 with the Deeds having already tasted chart success with their former teen line-up, Serum, who garnered huge critical acclaim from the likes of Steve Lamacq, GLR, XFM, Virgin and Radio 1. They can be guaranteed to deliver rock with uncommon glory. During 2008, DEEDS OF THE NAMELESS released the first single "Enemy Within" recorded in Flood's (Smashing Pumpkins, U2) Assault & Battery studio and with the tracks mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro). The release earned them a main support slot at the Beached Festival that year. In 2010, DOTN entered the studio with Matt Lawrence (Adele, Van Morrison, You Me At Six) to record two new songs. The first, "Exit Wound" is an epic track. With its crunching guitar riff, this track would most definitely take pride of place in any action blockbuster and is guaranteed to get the crowd rocking out at their gigs. The bands re-working of the recent Jay-Z hit "Run This Town" highlights their vocal dexterity and ability to deliver the unexpected. The band have also included a bonus urban version of "Exit Wound" featuring Dabbla, Jam Baxter, Dubbledge and Stig of the Dump, bringing the song's power to a crossover audience. DEEDS OF THE NAMELESS are hitting the live circuit once again having gained a host of respected fans including Alex Zane, Band of Horses, Biffy Clyro, Mystery Jets and Ian Brown so far. This summer, DOTN will be spreading their brand of riff-soaked melodies to fresh ears across London and the South-East. It's been a while but proper British rock is back with balls-out, amps up, screaming anthems that you can't help but sing along to. Previous Support: Alex Zane (XFM/Channel 4) "Love It" Ian Camfield (XFM) "A Great British Band" Ian Brown "F***** Awesome" Frank Mccarthy (BFBS Radio) "One of my favorite bands" Kenny Hots "Tighter than my first girlfriend" www.myspace.com/thedeedsofthenameless www.facebook.com/deedsofthenameless www.youtube.com/deedsofthenameless www.twitter.com/dotnuk It certainly won't be long till DOTN gain the national recognition that they deserve. -
