The Cactus Experience

Four young men, one mission.

The story of The Cactus Experience starts at the Swedish Arvika Festival where Robin Velander and Robert Samuelsson meet because of their similar taste in music. They decided to live out every teenagers dream and create a rock band, which they did together with Filip Ängeby on bass and Gustav Lugnegård on drums.

In the beginning the music was highly influenced by the music from the 60's as well as the 80's. The Beatles and Bob Dylan stood in the foreground together with bands like The Cure and Talking Heads for the boys. At the end of the summer of 2009 they finally had their first gig, at the local festival Solliden Rock where they played some own songs as well as covers, together with the new guitarist David Hallén. Then the autumn came and Filip left Sweden for a year in Italy and David left the band because of lack of time and different musical taste.

Eventually Viktor Broo joined the band, playing bass as well as some guitars. The sound of the band started to evolve and a kind of mix between high energy garage rock/punk and synthpop was created. During that time the band entered the studio for the first time and they recorded their first demo, which contained the tear-dropping ballad Thorns in My Wrists as well as the disco-rock song Coverlover.

The band continued to grow together, more gigs were played and more songs were written. Now the time has come for their first official EP. The ambition is to give the world pop music that matters. Pop music that feels and makes you think. Pop music that tells the truth! Its time to tell the surroundings that:
