Bio
Started in 2001, Squirrel Records is an independent label based in the UK.Releasing mainly vinyl 7"s and LP's and keeping alive the spirit of early Creation Records, Postcard, Factory, Flying Nun, Subway, Sarah etc...but bringing to you some of the best in (mainly female fronted) pop punk, rock n' roll and lo fi fuzzy indie guitar noise. We've released stuff by The Cribs (their debut single in 2003) The Real Losers (loud n' raw garage punk) Savage Lucy (teen girl punk from the USA) Pop Threat (fuzzed up guitar noise) Downdime (spikey psychedelic indie rock n' roll) and loads of others with plenty more to come. No contracts, no fuss, no bullshit, no pandering to whatever (inevitably fuckin' dull) trend the mainstream music press have tried to invent or laid claim to inventing this week, and most importantly, no limiting ourselves to one style of music. We love punk stuff, pop stuff, noise, energy, spirit....if we like it, we'll release it... .. Some of the earlier Squirrel Records releases are long deleted and sold out , but you can still order the later titles in the discography along with loads of great stuff released on other labels too ( including the wonderful Dead Penny Records ) by visiting the Squirrel Records website. Please use the link to the website which you'll find on this page.Go take a look at what we've got..... .. -

The Phantom Light
"A taut sounding slick record that pushes the emotive indie rock button and never lets up. 4/5" Norman Records
"Its quiet quality and variation is most apparent. 8.5/10" Loud Horizon
"If this were the seventies then this band would be massive. Nobody shied away from musical complexity then and it was common for an album to have a theme but the world today is a twisted and much simplified place. 4/5" Bluesbunny
