They spent 27 weeks at the top of the charts and the album was a major commercial and critical success. The band's success isn't hard to explain. With their catchy, radio-friendly music, profound lyrics and an energetic live set, pretty much everyone from art school hipsters, mechanics and housewives to convicts, critics and politicians jumped on the bandwagon.
