Hi we are SPITFIRE",we are based in Rugby Warks,SPITFIRE started out from the ashes of local covers band BEERGUT 100"!after we did a reunion gig for a charity event in the town.we were only supposed to do 4 songs?but they wouldn't let us off?? the comments afterwards gave us the idea of getting back together"! so after a deep conversation over half a shandy"we decided to go for it!""so way back at the tail end of 04"we startd rehearsing.with 2 original members Colin on guitar/Des on lead vocals and keyboard/as Steve the drummer had decided not to carry on we pulled in paul gardner on drums(now with BASSMENT) plus 2 new recruits- Don on guitar/and Dave on bass"! but then things started to change.Paul left., as BASSMENT were getting busy! so we got Colins son Adam(stix") to take over the drumstool"!.then it was Des who decided to leave"! along with Dave"! so Colin took over on lead vocals,and we advertised for a bass player? one guy turned up,did well,and got the job!"then disappeared?? never heard from him since? then along came Craig wright. so with full line up it was all systems go!! we got the set list together quite swiftly covering bands such as motley crue/ ac/dc/sabbath ozzy.etc.playing at various venues,and also biker rallies such as the coffinscratchers m.c.c.for the last four years! and the dregs rally ,in newark.In 06"Adam left to join another band.which came as a bit of a shock!but he was still young 17".and jeez what a drummer"!we were really lucky to have him on board"! eventually he left them and is now in an excellent band called THE JUKEBOX JUNKIES".check their myspace"! we then recruited an old friend of Colin's called Dave carnell.Colin and Dave used to play together in Coventry band HELL'S KITCHEN"which changed to THE ARMADILLO'S, (now THE ROOTERS")Dave left last year ,.so then we re-recruited Steve back on drums,and Kev on bass,we did a few gigs but somehow it didnt quite gel.? so after another personnel change, and a lot of advertising ? we have recruited a good friend of ours on bass,Roger long ,guitarist from MEDUSA TOUCH",(great band,check em out"!)he will still be playing with them obviously,! and on drums,!someone who we can only describe as a complete animal at bashing those skins!"Glenn Brennan!he's as mad as, colins son STIX"(JUKEBOX JUNKIES").so with the current solid rhythm section sorted!"it's chocs away!"and all clear for take off!""tally ho!
