Skater used to be called "Skuter". But we'll talk about this later. First, let us give you an impression of who Skater really are. What started in 2002 as a "joke" project between Roberto Dee (right) and Dean de Lucca, turned out to be a serious international smash. First, Skuter were four Deejays and Dean - the producer. After two singles, guys split up, leaving Roberto Dee and Samcy Jay (left) as members. Producing a debut album, the boys started looking for a female vocalist. Katja appeared on a local talent show and Samcy immediately decided that she was the one. Asking her to sing a song called Arrivederci Vanc and slightly changing their sound with additional accordion. The track was a huge hit in Slovenia and a clear sign - this is the way they need to go. So Dean produced a whole album called "Arrivederci" and the success was complete. In the meantime, Dean found some contacts with a multinational label Universal and they decided to form a new group with Samcy and Katja - called Zdravo. This means "Hello" in Slovenian language but it obviously sounded exotic enough to them. First single Ene Mene Miste was recorded in Germany. This is a remake of Gor in Dol (Dean de Lucca's original track). Unfortunately, the recession kicked in and the label couldn't afford additional funds for music video and so on. No investing in promotion, the track remained a sleeping beauty, being played on Ibiza and different holiday resorts. In the meantime, Dean produced the next hit called "Na pomoc" (Help) and a simple video full of hot girls. Uploading it to the internet - the story changed forever. Over 5.000.000 visitors in only three months, before Google banned the video for no reason. It was enough for a huge copyright lawsuit. In Germany, a group called Scooter decided to sue the group because of their Name. And this took time... Over six month before they agreed that a simple name change is enough. U was replaced with A, and Skater was born. Dean and the group received about hundred of emails (daily) with requests, especially from the USA, where can they buy Skater CD, why isn't there a tour planned and so on. Unfortunately, the record label Skater were signed to, was being run by a no-brainer. Nice words in the beginning, nice facts, great portfolio, but the truth was a lot different. Whatever licensing deal was offered, they turned it down or even better - they negotiated it so far, that no healthy label would want to agree to their terms. And no CD's were available, no download, no nothing. More than a year after that, Skater are still a very successful band, but unfortunately international fans are left behind. In December 08, their contract with the label expires, leaving them free and available for worldwide distribution. Feel free to visit their homepage and listen to their music. Once the international market is open, we'll add their music and other merchandising items to our store. We'd like to apologize to all fans and everybody sending us e-mails, but things simply weren't in our hands but there are better times on the horizon.

I have received the final master of ‘On The Groove’ (included in this maxi) from Madrid (it was masterized by an old member from Deepblue Records UK) and now it is available in my player. This track was made 2 years ago and It was uploaded (and, later, removed from my player) to myspace long time ago aswel. Then, I need to say thanks from here to all the remixers from this label who are working in this maxi. Special thanks to Liquid Nations and Tosch. It has been a real real honour to work with you all. Hey, wie geht..s denn so? Wir waren die letzten Wochen fleißig im Studio und haben unser erstes Album Magie der Nacht aufgenommen. Neben einer ganzen Menge Partysongs sind auch zwei Balladen drauf :-) Wir haben alle 12 Tracks selbst geschrieben und komponiert und hoffen daher umso mehr, dass Dir die neuen Songs gefallen ;)
Die CD gibts uebrigens ab dem 24.04. bei Media Markt und Saturn, aber natuerlich auch schon im Internet: AMAZON

Helo Skater - Meine Mizza aus Ibizza - NEW song !!! ¡ Everything well?I’ve been experimenting a bit with my music in the last weeks and, this time, the Northamerican male singer Jon Davidson (www. myspace. com/jondavidsonmusic) has given me the chance to remix his track ‘Hermit Crab’. Jon is a rock singer so I think the best thing I could do is making a kind of breakbeat style mixed with my classical trance and electro music. I haven’t produced thinking about dancefloors this time (strange cos I’m a dj but it’s a bit hard to dance at 105 bpm, hehe) Anyway, I’m looking forward to read your feedbacks, good or bad to keep on improving my style in the future. Tons of thanks for your voice, Jon and tons of thanks to you for supporting me. Here we go again!
