About Sir Vinyl of the Fattest

Sir Vinyl of t'Fattest is a four strong DJ team of retro/future blockrockers, connecting together like old school transformers to draw from the latest hi-tek soul and drop crowd uniting BASS music, alongside special sonics from the archives. It's dance music in the truest sense of the word: music to dance to: deep, diverse and deadly. It is a journey that can last (and has lasted) for many hours, straying freely through the mighty realms of Soul, Broken beat, Afrobeat, Dubstep, Bashment, Hip Hop, Detroitisms, Swing, Calypso and many other areas too fantastic to be confined to a word or yet to have the appropriate words invented to confine them. Playing individually at various nights and sessions over the last 8 years or so, supporting the likes of Rahzel, Fat Freddy's Drop, Bugz in the Attic, TY, Giles Peterson, Paul Murphy, Troubleman, The Nextmen and Quantic, to name just a few, the Sir Vinyl selection team solidified through free parties they held in the West Penwith area. Festivals, friends & family, mutual music loving, bass pleasure and dance floor enjoyment all played a part... When the Sir vinyl DJs play, the vibe is Positive Energy and SoundSystem Pressure. Making conections with open minded dancers................in tune, on time, everytime....an offkey, offbeat offering of MUSICAL JOY.

The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists	21 Nov 2008 20:25 The Acorn Arts Centre in Penzance is to be taken on a trip through Eastern Europe via Liverpool by the combined forces of home-grown klezmer-punk-gypsy enthusiasts “Julian Gaskell & his Ragged Trousered Philanthropists” and John Lennon inspired punk activists "The Oz" all the way from St Petersburg, Russia on Saturday 6th December. This bizarre exchange of musical styles is likely to be quite a night, the last "Ragged Trousered Philanthropists" gig at the Acorn in July was a sweaty, dance floor storming performance of epic proportions with tickets sold out in advance. Having recently returned from a tour of Poland and Czech Republic, the Philanthropists have pushed their music even further beyond it's limits, and with the Russians in attendance they are sure to raise their game further towards ‘bourbon soaked vaudeville gypsy hoedown politico- punk' oblivion. Tickets are available from The Acorn Arts Centre at £5 plus £1 booking fee per booking or by calling the Acorn ticket line on 01736 365520, make sure you book early to avoid disappointment, doors open at 7.30pm and the live music will continue until midnight.
