    What began as a solo studio project in 1996 for main man Richard Blair soon developed into a production and writing duo with colombian songwriter Ivan Benavides, and has since become a full live band. Sidestepper's shows have become legendary, the guarantee of a great party that starts on stage and results in a collective and euphoric experience, genuinely contagious. .. .. Today the sidestepper sound had expanded far beyond its original fusion of classic salsa and club beats to take in everything from deep Colombian folk influences to hip hop via cumbia, dancehall reggae, dub and afrobeat, layering infectious melodies and crisp harmonies on top of rock solid beats. .. .. In the process , Sidestepper has helped transform the Colombian music scene, inspiring a new generation of young beat scientists to marry latin music with cutting edge beats. ....The originator that kick started the new wave of electro acoustic colombian music..... .. .. A lot of great talents have passed through the group, many of whom have gone on to great success with their own bands, like Goyo from ChocQuibTown, Pernett, and Sergio Arias from Malalma. Lo que Richard Blair comenzó como un proyecto solista de estudio en 1996, pronto se convirtió en un dúo de producción musical con el compositor colombiano Iván Benavides, y desde entonces ha sido la mejor banda en vivo de la región. El show de Sidestepper se ha vuelto leyenda y es la garantía de una gran fiesta que comienza en el escenario y continúa en una experiencia colectiva y eufórica, realmente contagiosa. .. .. Hoy en día, el sonido de Sidestepper se ha expandido más allá de la original fusión de salsa clásica y ritmos discotequeros para incluir desde profundas influencias del folclor colombiano hasta hip hop, a través de la cumbia, el reggae, dub y el afrobeat, capas de melodías contagiosas y armonías suaves por encima de una sólida base de beats. .. ..
