About me:
...." ..I created my own myspace layout using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM .. Hello! I am Sarah! I live in the Lake District, (and lovely it is!), i enjoy walking around the places that i live, reading, scrapbooking, swimming (whenever i get the chance) and i am a big animal person, (love me dog, Border Collie Meg). I help out my fiance with his new film company when i'm not in my terribly dull job. I love listening to and watching folk music and bands. I am teaching myself (very slowly and badly) to play the fiddle. I have John Kirkpatrick (on dvd) helping me to learn the Hohner Pokerwork Melodeon :-) and i can work out a tune on the penny whistle given time! I cannot read music as i am numerically dyslexic and it being so very closely related to arithmatics my poor brain will just not allow me to understand time signatures! But i have tried believe me i have tried (years of frustrated tantrums with music teachers in my youth!) But no mind i shall persevere trying to learn without it! However i do happen to be able to sing! Hooray, so i idle my days away in my really dull but flexible job, singing ancient songs and thinking about the next gig that my saved pennies will allow me to get too!
Who I'd like to meet:
Someone who runs a good folk session near Carlisle! ;-) Myself in ten years time to see if i have actually achieved anything with my life. (deep i know)Some friends gone but not forgotten e.g: Ian Moran where are u now? Other lovers of traditional british folk music and song who would maybe like to form a band. Jensen Ackles, Johnny Depp and David Tennant for obvious reasons. Damien Barber, as we have a chatty myspace relationship but have never actually met, AND 'cause he sounds awesome! I have at last met Andy Mellon ! HUZZAH!!Details

10 of 71Moresorry I didn't see you at the proms but it looks like you weren't that far away from us from your facebook pics.
New reviews, news, events and more at www. folkandroots. co. uk come pay us a visit..
Yeah, Carolyn tells me the music project has been set up in Penrith due to more interest there. Is travel a problem? Hope you can work something out to enable you to join some sort of group.
Check out the pics on my personal profile (Martyn) I've posted a pic of Jon B that one of my mates took at a gig, I use it as the background on my laptop.
Thanks for the pics Sarah. Any progress with the music project yet, how are things going?
Hi Sarah, thanks for adding me to your friends.
I looked through you picture albums and saw my friend Carolyn as the Jig Machine at the Fylde Festival; could I be really cheeky and ask you to tag them to the Lakeland Fiddlers please, Carolyn will be delighted to see them.
Yes, I do have a facebook!
If you give me your email address I'll look you up
Hi Sarah, thanks for the add and the kind comments. You don't need to read music to play fiddle, the LF band all learn the tunes by ear. The dots are just to remind us of what tunes we play after we've learnt them.

You don't need to be a good fiddler to start a band either; all you need is a vision and a little bit of organisational ability. I can't believe there are no more fiddlers up your way who would like to be in a band. Good luck!
Martyn @ Lakeland Fiddlers
