Bio
Born 16 Sept, 1972, Sanjuro began showing an interest in music around the age of 7, when he was given an acoustic guitar as a Xmas present - he's been making noises ever since! He has been in various bands over the years, including The Drastiks who, despite forming over 20 years ago (and having a 15 year hiatus) are unbelievably still going! He grew up listening mainly to rock, particularly at school where he developed a love for thrash metal with bands such as Metallica and Megadeth. It wasn't until he went to college in 1992 that he first started hearing the strange but alluring sounds of hardcore - containing the same darkness and energy that he enjoyed in thrash. This interest was heightened with the arrival of Jungle!! It was unlike anything he'd heard before, & he was immediately transfixed - and so started a love affair with Jungle and Drum n Bass, which continues to this day! Having moved to London in 1996, he began writing D n' B in 1997, but it wasn't until around 2003 that he had some airplay of his tune 'So High', dropped by DJ Fader on the now legendary Rude FM. He formed the Cuttin Edge crew alongside longtime rave partners Darryl J and Mark. Despite moving out of London to Colchester in 2008, Sanjuro has recently formed The Skyhawk Clan, alongside DJ (and fellow greenkeeper!) Adam 'Tigero'. The Clan is currently gathering tunes together to hopefully unleash on an unsuspecting public in the very near future... He is also recording new material under the name of Concealed Identity for an EP, due to be completed in 2012 -
