Bio
RuMJiG are a feisty four piece based in Liverpool. They write, perform and record original music which blends a spicy mix of genres including folk, dub, drum and bass, swing, jazz, skanking reggae, blues, Latino and many more. With good conscience, rhythmically exciting and melodically entangled with riding bass rooting it all together - RuMJiG have caused a stir wherever they go. They have substantial followings in Liverpool, Norfolk, Devon and Wales. RuMJiG have played many festivals, Clubs and bars throughout the UK although mainly concentrated around the North West. You can be sure to find them on the last Friday of every month at the residency they hold in Liverpool's finest jazz funk bar Django's Riff. They have an EP which is available from Bandcamp http://rumjig.bandcamp.com/ and are currently working hard on their debut Album. This year they are looking to play many a gig/festivals, sell lots more EP's and continue developing the loyal and passionate following that they have. . .... RumJig met in Manchester back in 2002. It started with Ed writing a few tracks with Jules and recording them for the pure joy of creation. Ben moved in next door to Ed and added his guitar, ideas and production to the team. They came together to sing through the rain and create some rivetting fun of jazzy importance. Not much later the translucent core of shred, ben and Jules were driving back from touring a tea plantation when they picked up a hitch hiker of the name of BUD who was on his way back from a DangerclaaT rave. It turned out he was an absolutely clangtanging, samba dwelling, gotta a-bronze-for-his-25metres-swimming drummer with steak hands. They all got on so well musically and humanly he was invited to join the clan. With this- the RumJig FIRE of randomosity, lust for life, impulsive compulsive jazz funk nectar Has been re-ignited. Rum It out n Jig on up- let's get the good times a cranking ************ .. -
