Seit dem 31. Dezember 2008 um 22:05 Uhr ist Radio MultiCult2.0 auf Sendung. Es gibt diesen Sender, weil der zweitgrößte Medienstandort Deutschlands und die Hauptstadtregion Berlin-Brandenburg ein multikulturelles Medium brauchen, das alle ethnischen Gruppen anspricht und verbindet. .. .. Immerhin leben hier Menschen aus 180 Nationen. Dieses Hörerpotential ist unsere zentrale Zielgruppe. Wir wollen ihr und allen Weltbürgern in der Region etwas Verbindendes geben: Ein Programm, das bunt, aktuell, kritisch und politisch ist, mit einer unverwechselbaren Musikfarbe. .. .. Vorläufig ist MultiCult 2.0 zwar nur online zu hören, aber mittelfristig verfolgen wir das Ziel eines Sendeplatzes in der Berlin-Brandenburger Radiolandschaft. .. .. Eine Stütze des Programms sind Autorensendungen mit der bewährten Musikfarbe von radiomultikulti, präsentiert von bekannten und beliebten Moderatoren unseres ehemaligen Senders. Auch einige Fremdsprachen bestehen weiter. Unsere wachsende Zielgruppe lebt täglich mit einem Potpourri an Sprachen und Kulturen: Bunt, lebendig, dynamisch und aktiviert - viel interkultureller, als es bislang gewohnte Sendeformate widerspiegelten. .. .. Wir werden Programmfenster für Kiezprojekte von Wedding bis Marzahn und von Prenzlau bis Spremberg einrichten, in denen Jugendliche ihre Musik und Ehrenamtliche ihre Projekte vorstellen können. MultiCult2.0 ist ein interaktives Mitmach-Radio, wir werden neue Formate entwickeln und Synergien zwischen klassischem Rundfunk und den Möglichkeiten eines portalgestützten Internetradios erschließen. .. .. Was noch fehlt, sind Zeit, Geld und eine terrestrische Frequenz. Wir beginnen deshalb so bescheiden, wie es unsere privaten Mittel zulassen. Aber in der Größe der Herausforderung liegt auch eine Chance: Sie liegt in der kreativen Verknüpfung von analogen und digitalen Formaten, einem herkömmlichen Radio, das unmittelbar mit Inhalten aus dem Internet verknüpft wird, das auf den Dialog mit dem Hörer setzt, statt ihn nur zu beschallen, das ihn nicht ausgrenzt, sondern mitwirken und mitgestalten lässt. .. .. Well, not actually 'on air' but the successor of Berlin's renowned intercultural programme 'Radio Multikulti' started as online-radio just 5 minutes after Radio Multikulti was shut down by Berlin's public broadcasting company. .. .. As Germany's second-largest center of movie, radio, tv and other media enterprises, the capital region of Berlin and the surrounding Brandenburg deserves a genuine multicultural media programme that addresses and interconnects all ethnical groups. After all, people representing more than 180 different nationalities live and work here. This is our main target audience. It is our goal to provide our local audience as well as all cosmopolitans abroad with a program as colourful as the Berlin region, always up-to-date, critical in all directions, politically aware, and - last but not least - with a distinctive musical flavour. .. .. MultiCult2.0 also wants to bring fresh ideas into politics and economics – and it can. The area of Berlin and Brandenburg already faces a severe shortage of skilled workers, engineers and technicians due to dramatic demographic changes in the population. Immigrants and their successful integration into the German society will be of central strategic importance for a further strengthening of the economy in Berlin and Brandenburg. .. .. It's one of our major middle-term objectives to obtain our own channel, to join the concert and competition of radio stations in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. During the first few months, however, you will only be able to enjoy the online program of MultiCult2.0. For this initial phase we plan to have a daily radio show beginning at 4 pm focusing on current topics from the vivid cultural life in the German capital. Many of the programmes will be presented by well-known and popular moderators of the former Radio Multikulti, thus ensuring a good deal of continuity – including the established musical policy of 'world wide music'. Also a number of programmes in foreign languages will be continued. Successful multi-cultural cities and regions all over the world have already turned into post-migrational societies. We wish to actively support this transition here in Berlin. .. .. We believe that large parts of the society in the Berlin region are far more advanced in living a multicultural life than the favoured themes of official political debate and mainstream public media would suggest. This belief is the heart of our still developing strategy. Our steadily growing target group already experiences everyday-life as a potpourri of languages and cultures: colourful, highly dynamic and active, with much more inter-cultural flavour than is presently catered to by the thematic choices of existing public media formats. It is our ambition as journalists to give a true reflection of this exciting development. We will offer ample programme space for self-realization of social and cultural projects from all over Berlin, from every “Kiez” (local district), with of course a special emphasis on youth projects developing and pushing new music styles. MultiCult2.0 will develop into an active radio with user participation, with novel formats, fed by synergies coming from the fusion of classical broadcasting with portal-based internet radio. .. .. What's still missing: enough time, sufficient money and – finally – a channel for terrestrial broadcasting. Therefore, we start our project as modestly as our private resources permit. But we dare to see this challenge as a real chance: to creatively merge analogue with digital formats, traditional broadcasting with net content, inviting users to participate rather than focusing on more passive consumers, involving the audience rather then excluding it.
