Paul has been a session musician for the likes of The Supernaturals, Paulo Nuttini, Tracy Hunter, Phil Campbell and Frank O'Hagan plus many other bands and genres too long to list. He plays, electric/acoustic guitars, basses fretted and unfretted, mandolin bazouki and anything else with strings on he can get his hands on. After a long ten year slog of playing in bands, being a promoter, a stage manager, an events and venue manager, Paul is contemplating running away to somewhere quiet with waves and trees to write pleasant acoustic music. He has been plying his wares as a solo artist on and off for a few years but has never challenged the world headlong with it. Hopefully you can catch his americanna, weird folky musings at a show someday somewhere soon!!!!! "Next came well-respected session player-turned solo all-rounder Paul Malcolm, another who is also destined to make a name for himself on the circuit. His rolling, tumbling finger picking style, heavier than Chris Smither and as scary as a John Martyn or John Fahey when they take it to the limit, might threaten to steal the show, but when you manage to drag your attention back to the lyric and voice, it's clear that the material is pretty classy fare. There is an edgy intensity to much of the writing, aided and abetted by some unorthodox open tuning, from deep down mellow to a high-tension job that had those taught strings singing and ringing."
