  • Bio

SLAB: 'A death metal growl, wrapped in swathes of dark melody, turned up to 11 and guided by a hardcore punk attitude.' SLAB were conceived in 2005 by cousins Big Jim Fletcher and Andy 'Kimbo' Kimberley (Bass and drums respectively), and guitarist/vocalist Jake Cowing. Combining many different styles and influences whilst still trying to focus on good songwriting the 'power-trio' have managed to win fans from both metal/rock and punk/hardcore audiences. This may be due not only to the ever-changing song styles but also to the hard roadwork the band have put in, earning fans up and down the UK and as far afield as Malta. With over 250 gigs played in the bands relatively short history, SLAB are a major force to be reckoned with in the live arena. SLAB released 'Betray the Past.. Infect the future' in 2008 through Meltdown Records to critical and fan acclaim. Now in 2010 they are gearing up to release their second album 'Megafaunal Genocide', a truly monstrous piece of work.. CATCH THEM LIVE SOON!! Recordings: 2006: 'Conspiracy' - Free 3-track demo 2007: 'Betray the Past.. Infect the Future'. - Album 2008: 'Betray the past..' gets a general release through Meltdown Records 2009: 'No Sleep 'til Stourbridge' - Live album - Download only. 2010: SLAB gear up to release their 2nd album 'Megafaunal Genocide'.
