nickrevell.comBio
Nick Revell started doing stand-up comedy in 1980. He was a regular on the alternative circuit, making many TV and Radio appearances, and one of the main MCs at the Comedy Store from 1982-1992.
In 1992 he stopped doing stand-up, concentrating instead on writing for TV and Radio, although he did also write and perform two successful solo theatre shows in 1993 and 1995--The Ghost of John Belushi Flushed My Toilet and Liberal Psychotic.
He began doing stand-up comedy again in the summer of 2002. Quite frankly, to begin with he was erratic to say the least. In fact, in one show he was compering in Edinburgh in 2002, the audience were heckling after the gig had finished. But he’s now getting his chops back.
In 2003 he did a solo show at the Edinburgh Festival--Bare Bones, and Like It Matters in 2004. He works regularly and ubiquitously on the British comedy circuit.

About me:
Hello. I’m a stand-up comedian and frankly I feel more self-conscious having a MySpace page than I ever do on stage. It feels like gate-crashing a teenage party. I'm being honest when I say I hate selling myself like a product ; I prefer to let people make their own minds up when they see me performing. It has to be done, though, so here I am, a reluctant self-publicist who makes a living by being the entertaining sole focus of attention in a room full of strangers every chance I can. But life is full of paradoxes. For example, I used to be in favour of fighting climate change, but since I saw LiveEarth, I feel our collective number-one priority must be to destroy the planet before Madonna has the chance to perform again. What else can I tell you? On this page you’ll find details of my forthcoming gigs, and from time to time I’ll be blogging, hopefully in an entertaining manner.
I also write comedy. You can find shows I’ve written and performed in showing up quite often on BBC Radio 7 – such as The Million Pound Radio Show, The Nick Revell Show, and House of the Spirit Levels. They also run Drop the Dead Donkey from time to time on the Paramount Channel. I sometimes turn up on The Newsquiz and Just a Minute on BBC Radio 4.
