Mr Shiraz Bio
"FUN LOVING, BOOZE GUZZLING, HOTEL TRASHING......THE MR SHIRAZ JUGGERNAUT BRINGS THE FINEST IN ROCK, FUNK, METAL AND PUNK!" - METAL HAMMER
MR SHIRAZ have come to change the face of music. This newly revamped 5 piece have been trekking across the globe sharing their unique blend of influences and styles to the eagerly awaiting masses.
Hailing from Huddersfield, UK, MR SHIRAZ formed in 2000 and have been playing relentlessly to a wide variety of audiences ever since. In 2001 MR SHIRAZ were heralded the the MEAN FIDDLER/FUTURESOUND champions securing a slot on the illustrious Carling weekend festival. In 2005 the band were invited back once again to play to a packed, enthusiastic crowd.
The snowballing effect allowed the band to sign a contract with 'Triumphant Sound' (formerly 10past12 Records) and in 2008, Firestorm Records in the USA, which allowed their debut album "I'm Invincible, I'm Built Like a Sherman tank, Somebody Try and STOP ME!" to be sold in stores and on-line world-wide.
Whilst creating a massively devoted fan base, major UK (and world wide) magazines 'Metal Hammer' and 'Big Cheese' took notice of their impressive live show and both featured articles on the band, who at the same time began receiving airplay on radio stations including Radio 1. Shortly after these articles hit, MR SHIRAZ were back on the road with their seemingly never-ending tour schedule.
Their ever growing following led them in march 2007 signing on as the premier client of M.I.A Management based in the US, in California, this opportunity allowed for MR SHIRAZ to trek over the Atlantic and head out on a 4 week south and west coast tour (ranging from Louisiana to Washington). along the way on the road increasing their faithful, Shiraz were offered a spot on the 2008 SXSW festival held annually in Austin, Texas.
With the rest of the year filling up and spilling over into 2009, including the release of their second album, MR SHIRAZ have much to look forward to.
MR SHIRAZ have played the UK, Europe and the USA as both headliner and support to such acts as - Kaiser Chiefs, Bouncing Souls, Alkaline Trio, Zebrahead Reel Big Fish, skindred, flogging Molly, Therapy?, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Starpool and many more.

"By no means a run-of-the-mill act, witnessed live Mr Shiraz are a refreshing break from watching some of the 'too cool' indie acts go through the motions on stage in front of mildly interested audiences."
"What I like about Mr Shiraz is how they manically work the audience up into a bubbling frenzy with their cheeky northern humour and raging ska/metal. The band encourages full squads of stage divers who are swiftly thrown back into the steaming mosh pit by the Mean Fiddler stage security. You can tell this band relish and feed off a live audience and turn it right back around."
"Mr Shiraz romped on stage soon-after, to rapturous applause from an impressive crowd and launched into a set which even grabbed the attention of the 'neutrals' - those that normally stand in the Cockpit swigging nasty beer all night, despite having paid to come in and see the bands."

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
