Album 2 has been recorded - at the gorgeous Metropolis Studio in London. With Paul Butler from the The Bees on production duties we have sailed the good ship elephant to some seriously wonderful new seas. Extremely excited about it and cant wait for you all to hear the results. We're hoping for a May release - keep em peeled

Happy New Year and love to you all

  • Frozen greetings

Hello friends - sorry its taken me this long to figure out new Myspace weirdness! We're buried underground wrestling album 2 into shape - dont ask how its going - one day its fantastic and the next we're deleting everything and crying into our tea. All i can tell you is that i promise were going to make it feckin amazing and that nothing is coming out until we can all say 'yes - thats the best work we can do'. What a bunch of self obsessed twats eh?

If you want more regular updates on all things elephant along with my personal outbursts of cockery then do follow us on twitter #luckyelephant_

  • What a lovely summer of gigs....now for studio harvest time!

Bless my trousers. Bestival once again proved to be THE perfect bookend to the summer and our collection of outdoor gigs. Unbelievable work had gone into the site and despite a fair amount of people being there this year (40,000 i heard!) the whole festival felt intimate and special - like the first few years. In fact we were working out that weve played at every Bestival so far - i think that puts us one Bestival ahead of the second place Hot Chip!! Keep up chaps.

The main stage gig on Sunday was incredible - to play at 11.40am anywhere is a bit odd. Turning up backstage in Lozza's trusty Mondeo and parking next to the 3 articulated lorries full of the Prodigy's gear was even odder! The stage crew took great delight in the collection of battered and ancient bits of gear that emerged from the Mondeo. What a set though. Thank you so much to all those that came and danced and smiled and generally made it such a top set. We loved it. The Bimble Inn later in the day was completely different in size and vibe but just as enjoyable - we all finished and had a collective moment backstage of relief that we'd played well and managed to get through all the festivals this year combined with a bit of sadness that it was all over.

But now to the studio. Weve been gagging to get on and finish the writing of the next album - we're about 6 tunes into it so far and super happy with the way its shaping up. So i think a deliberate break from live shows for a few months while we get busy and hopefully harvest some of that good autumnal inspiration that usually arrives with the shorter days and re-emergence of the big socks.

Hope everyone is well and enjoyed their summers as much as we did.

  • Elephant at Bestival twice this weekend

Bestival goers if you're about on Sunday you can catch us twice at the best festival of the year. Were on the main stage at 11.40am (gulp - morning gigs are so far an unknown quantity) and then again at 4pm in the Bimble Inn. Take your pick!

    Sx
