The Storm have been having a good 2009 so far... Celtic Connections, nice reviews, radios . . . :) I am lucky to have some most talented musicians to play with.

It was while Lindsay studied the slow creep of glaciers in Iceland that the seeds of the songs were sown. Carrying these ideas back to Edinburgh, they fell on the fertile soil of the vibrant Edinburgh acoustic scene and began to take root. Augmenting Lindsay’s fragile melodies and intricate guitar parts with the harmonies, cello, djembe and glockenspiel of the Storm, a unique sound emerged . . . with results we hope you like :)

The Storm is building momentum and 2009 will see the band the busiest ever... The band scooped all the awards on offer at Acoustic Idols 2008, and were crowned overall Acoustic Idols of the year, voted for by the audiences of Edinburgh. Beyond their home city, they have been seen at venues such as the Hope & Anchor, London, and in January 2009 they were selected to perform a set at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow during the Celtic Connections Festival..

Lindsay Sugden writes the songs, sings them and playes guitars and flutes. She is accompanied by The Storm, an ever-evolving specimen currently including Nelson Wright (djembe) and Ali Clarke (cello). Violins, violas, oboes & clarinets, please make youself know :) I have also had the pleasure of working with the amazing Neelofer Banglawala (cello) & Indigo Rose (harmonies & glockenspiel).
