Bio
I am a London based harmonica player.Mostly blues, but have worked in other genres;country music, rock, reggae, pop and incidental music. Picked up the harp in 1965 and never really put it down! Played with countless bands and musicians over the years-too many to remember let alone list here! First public appearances with musicians of note was the opportunity to accompany artists such as Alexis Korner and Jo-Ann Kelly for a few songs at clubs such as Les Cousins and Bunjies in the late 1960's. My first commercial recording was an eponymous album with the band Key Largo on the Blue Horizon label in 1970. I played on sessions for Gerry Rafferty,Lightnin'Slim,Bloodstone,Bob Marley and the Wailers,The Inmates,Freddie King,The Enemy Within,Mike Vernon are ones I recall from the 70's.Also played on some T.V themes and soap opera background music and ads. On the live music side I had a good run with quite a few R'n'B bands including The Michigan Flyers,The Cobras, in the 70's/80's. Also played quite regularly with The Count Bishops (aka The Bishops) during the same period. Also a good band called The Diplomatics late 80's.More recently I was with The Yardbirds for three years in the 90's,subsequently Jeremiah Marques and The Blue Aces also The City Shakers led by Big Boy Bloater . I am currently working with Jerimiah Marques and the Blue Aces and also the Eric Ranzoni Trio. -
