    I was born on 6. May 1960 in Aarhus, Jutland, mainland Denmark. My first band was SPIDERS FROM OZ (1976-77), hailing from Tilst, an Aarhus suburb rehearsing in the local youth club. We played Hendrix, Bloodrock and Atomic Rooster covers with a few originals. On 31. December 1977 I formed DREAM POLICE (www.myspace.com/dreampolicedk) who have been going on and (especially) off ever since. DP contributed 2 tracks to the legendary "Pærepunk" compilation LP in 1979 and released 2 posthumous EP..s "Come With" and the live "Demise" in 1981. In between the many DP hiatuses I formed THE CLOCHARDS (1979-81) that recorded a 4-track demo at the famous "Feedback" Studio (Viby, Aarhus) with Peter A.G. producing. The mastertape was erased sometime in the 1980..s but I have a cassette copy, so the session was finally released as a 7" in 2003. In the Spring and Summer of 1980 I played with Steen Thomsen and Henrik Lund (both of THE ZERO POINT) in DOWNOUTS. Hanne Winterberg (*MORAL*) was guest vocalist on one of the few live dates Downouts played.... After Clochards folded in 1981 guitarist Björn Hoffmann and I continued with DEFORMED! (www.myspace.com/deformd) me now behind the drum-kit and Kim Westphal on bass. We released a cassette tape "Gas Attack..." on my own "No Aarhus" label in 1982. Deformed! only played a handful of gigs one of which was supporting U.K. SUBS in Copenhagen in November 1981. ("Dresden") Also, in 1981 I published the first issue of the zine "No Aarhus", and after 5 years I got tired of being an editor (sic) and it folded...With Ingolf Brown (*MORAL*) I got my cassette label going which also lasted well into the 80..s... DEFORMED! was alas just a memory early 1983, and later in the year I released a (solo) tape "Predictions", again on "No Aarhus". Kevin Andreason (ELECTRIC DEADS) played guitar on one side, Björn Hoffmann on the other with S.E. Frog (ex-DP) providing the bass. Also in 1983 I produced Electric Deads.. 3rd and last EP. They will probably still claim a co-producing credit but, believe you me, at some point of the slow proceedings as I showed the band my butt cheeks, I alone was in charge and we got the job done!!! DP reformed and split up in 1980, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1989!! Two slabs of vinyl came out in 1986 ("In Combat", 7" EP) and 1987 ("Cold Winds", 12" EP) respectively. DP came together yet again in 2003 celebrating the 25th anniversary of the festival that lead to the "Pærepunk" album, and we have continued since in various guises.....A 24 track retrospective CD "Tell Mom, Its Not Her Fault!" was released by "Karma" in 2006..... DREAM POLICE in 2010 consist of Günther Paulsen (Guitar), Steen Christiansen (SRC) on drums and a new bassplayer yet to be named.... We continue to write new material and play as many gigs as humanly possible so hopefully we..ll be seeing you around.... Johnny Concrete Aabyhøj, May 2010 ......
