muffins vs crumpets

now changed to muffins instead of toast due to pedantic comment below. But I'd still say crumpets with virtually any topping but especially just butter.

Crumpets are always good, but with real butter of course, none of that flora crap! but at the same time I do love to make hard boiled eggs, chop them up and put them in toasted muffins with some mayo, it's scrummy ;-)

The crumpet can hold honey like a comb and the muffins don't deserve stuffing. Go with the more ridged and crispy crumb of the crumpet. It also sounds like Strumpet and Trumpet, two great words.

    Crumpet

unless there is a Pikelet option , having said that we always called Crumpets Pikelets when we were little so it's probably just a nostalgia thing - Crumpet then , yes Crumpet .

What you should be asking is English muffins vs. American muffins... a circle of doughy something vs. a small cake so sweet and oily it could kill you faster than any regular full-size British cake.  Actually, they're both good in their own way.

Sigh.  All right.  I shall look at your other blog.

This is a false battle. The question you should be asking is:

    Crumpets or muffins?

Crumpets. Toasted. With butter melting through the holes in the top. And Marmite. Honestly!
