Tennessee Is Coming To Town
Win Tickets to The Jack Daniel’s Birthday Gig plus Travel and a Night in a
Hotel
Jarvis Cocker will play alongside Richard Hawley and Tennessee guitar legend Duane
Eddy for this year's Jack Daniel's birthday celebrations in London with
Ellie Goulding supporting.
In addition to their original material all four will bring the spirit of
Tennessee to life when they perform a Jack Daniel’s birthday exclusive of
very special collaborations themed around great Americana classics.
September is Mr Jack’s Birthday and this year the good folk at Jack Daniel’s
are bringing Tennessee to Town with a month of fantastic giveaways and this
exclusive gig featuring Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, Duane Eddy and Ellie
Goulding.
Jack Daniel’s long standing association with music began in the late 1800’s
when he created a band of musicians that performed to crowds of people
around the state of Tennessee, the home place of Jack Daniel’s whiskey.
They follow in the footsteps of Patti Smith, Frank Black and Flaming Lips
who are just some of the names to have played at previous Birthday gigs.
We have tickets for you and a friend to attend this exclusive gig, which
takes place at The Clapham Grand in London on 7th October. The prize also
includes one night’s accommodation and £50 travel allowance per person.
To enter, answer this question:
In which US state is the home place of Jack Daniel’s whiskey?
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- Texas
Email your answer with your name, age, DOB, address and telephone number to
jdsetcomps@gmail.com with Jarvis Cocker in the subject line.
For more information on the ‘Tennessee Is Coming To Town’ Birthday gig go to
www.jacksbirthday.co.uk
Entrants must be over 18. T&C’s apply. Competition deadline is Friday 24th
September.
Make Mr. Jack’s Birthday a memorable one. Please drink responsibly.

Village Underground Residency - On Sale Now
Following the success of his residency at the Galerie Chappe in Paris back in May (Google it if you missed it) Jarvis Cocker & his fellow musicians will install themselves in the Village Underground, 54 Hollywell Lane, London EC2A 3PQ between Noon & 6pm for 3 days on November 9th 10th & 11th. As in Paris, they will be inviting members of the public to participate in live musical improvisations (participants must bring their own instruments - amplification provided), they will provide live musical accompaniment to various exercise classes (including Yoga & ,hopefully, Aerobics) & they will be inviting guest artists to come & perform with them at various times during the residency. The whole event will be webcast & culminate in a concert performance on the Wednesday evening. Details of the event are still being finalised but you may wish to peruse the “manifesto” that accompanied the Parisian version to get a flavour of what it’s all about.Tickets available from: http://bit.ly/4cCDBI -
An apology...
An apology to anyone who went to the concert last night and waited outside for me to return to do some signing to no avail, I am not in the habit of lying and I had been up since 5am to get a flight out of Vancouver and dozed off after soundcheck, my sincerest apologies for not returning. To all those who came to the show - thanks - as it was a great show. Love Jarvis -

STONE
Art is Love
Love is All
And All is Love
Art in it's purist form, is a taxi home
We forget where we came from
Assured of water dripping through a stone
Everything changes from here on
Meet your maker, Creator
We're All blood, sweat and fears
You're getting warmer, warmer
Yet nowhere near
So: keep it coming
Life will be the death of us
Give up, give in
Surrender to this fantasy of Love
Art is War
Passion loses momentum
Clearly it's the same from here-on
Love is Light, Love is Dark
there is no-gray
Inner-truth of Yin and Yang
Art is everything we fake
So: keep it coming
Life, will be the death of Us
Give-up, give-in
Surrender to this fantasy of Love
Hi Jarvis! Greetings from the best fan in the world! ;)

PLEASE COME TO INDONESIA VERY MANY FANS OF PULP AND YOU IN MY COUNTRY...
been listening to your BBC 6-music docu.. wondering if you were part of my early 80's sheffield with the likes of Sheldon Row Studios & the whole scene at the time.. I think there may be a couple of years between our eras - quite significant at that time.. then I was part of what was the (daytime) resident band at the leadmill.. could be interesting to swap names of who we both know.... regards,
f
