Bio
I am a guitarist currently living in London, studying for an MA in jazz guitar at The Royal Academy of Music. Five years ago I formed The Forster King Band with vocalist Phil King, a project born of our shared love for the blues. This band features Jonny Henderson on Hammond organ and Scott Hammond on drums. Two years ago we released our debut album, "Keep the music playing". I also play with Scott in The Forster Hammond trio. This project focuses on the Blue Note organ sound originally defined by artists such as Jimmy Smith and Jack McDuff, a tradition that has continued to evolve with the likes of Larry Goldings and Sam Yahel. Ruth Hammond plays organ in this band. I'm originally from Bristol and have been lucky to play with many of the wonderful, talented musicians there. I would say that these people(too many to mention), have influenced me as much as those on my list. I'm settling in London now, steadily making friends and enjoying the incredible music scene here. -
