Dear IONO-friends and party people,.. The IONO team deeply regrets to inform you that we have CANCELLED the 2010 IONO festival... As you will understand, the decision of this cancellation was not easy for us because this festival was meant to be a gathering of a special kind, a family meeting outside the cyberspace, for us and our artists. And we wanted to celebrate our 5th anniversary with you, in a special Ambience... At the end of the last year we found a very nice place, which has a great appeal to us and which has also excelled our expectations related to the needs and interests we had for this festival. And afterwards, when we found out that also the local authorities are open for our concept, we have started our first pre-arrangements and advertisement with much positive energy on our side. But during our mission to do something good, special and unforgettable, we have heard voices of misgiving, coming from parts of the surrounded community at this location, caused by ignorance about the happiness and lust for life on such event. But it has always been very important for us to know all residents behind this festival, including those people who are not directly involved. But after taking everything into account carefully, we decided that we don’t want to assume compromises which could risk a jaunty celebration. After we realized that, we have intensely searched for a alternative location and inspected some more places. One of which was as good as the origin location, but after we concentrated on this one, we received new licensing requirements and orders for it almost every day. Finally none of the alternative, locations could fulfill the claims of quality which IONO is known for... With a very heavy heart we have decided now that we will let this event take place one year later, in 2011 Until then we have enough time to concentrate on the enlightenment and on doing a greater deal of convincing with the residents of our first-choice-location. We also do this because the local authorities have offered us every possible support for our festival. So this decision seems to be best for us, also when it has been made while or even because the presales of the IONO Festival has massively overmatched our expectations. A fact, which motivates us to do a perfect job in 2011... We honestly apologize to everybody, who has dedicated a note in his party-planner for our festival and to whom we have caused any inconvenience with this decision. We will refund all presale tickets to our loyal early bird gang... Sorry for everything! Wir bedauern sehr Euch mitzuteilen, dass wir das IONO Festival 2010 leider ABSAGEN müssen... Die Entscheidung zu dieser Absage fällt uns alles andere als leicht. Das Festival bedeutete für uns und unsere Künstler eine Zusammenkunft der besonderen Art, ein Familientreffen. Unseren 5. Geburtstag wollten wir mit allen feiern, die uns mögen . Das Ganze in einem besonderem Ambiente... Ende des letzten Jahres sind wir auf einen sehr schönen Ort gestoßen, der uns mit seinem natürlichen Charme sofort ansprach und in vielen organisatorischen Belangen unsere Vorstellungen noch übertraf. Als dann sogar noch die örtlichen Behörden unserem Festivalkonzept offen gegenüberstanden, waren wir in unser Euphorie kaum zu bremsen und begannen mit viel positiver Energie die ersten Vorbereitungen und Werbemaßnahmen zu ergreifen. Aber in dem Selbstverständnis etwas Gutes, Besonderes und Unvergessliches auf die Beine zu stellen, mussten wir vor kurzem Stimmen aus dem direkten Umfeld dieser Location anhören, die Vorbehalte äußerten. Vorbehalte aus Unwissenheit über die postive Stimmung und Lebensfreude, die auf so einem Fest verbreitet wird. Vorurteile in Form von Fehleinschätzungen über Wahrheiten oder Gerüchte, die man über ähnliche Veranstaltungen irgendwann mal aufschnappte. Für uns war es aber von Anfang an sehr wichtig, alle Anwohner hinter uns zu wissen. Also auch jene, die nicht unmittelbar von diesem Festival betroffen sind. Nach reiflichen Überlegungen waren wir nicht bereit, Kompromisse einzugehen, die in unseren Augen ein unbeschwertes Feiern hätten behindern oder auch nur gefährden können. Somit nahmen wir in den letzten Monaten unsere Suche nach einer anderen Location wieder auf und haben uns noch einige weitere Plätze angeschaut. Einer davon hatte uns ebenso sehr angesprochen wie der erste, jedoch haben uns immer mehr Auflagen die Vorbereitung erschwert. Am Ende konnte tatsächlich kein Platz unseren Qualitätsansprüchen genügen, ohne dass wir grosse Einschränkungen hätten in Kauf nehmen müssen... Wir haben uns nun schweren Herzens dazu entschlossen, das Festival erst 2011 stattfinden zu lassen. Die Zeit bis dahin werden wir nutzen, an jenem Ort Aufklärüngs- und Überzeugungsarbeit zu leisten, auf den unsere erste Wahl fiel, da man uns dort von behördlicher Seite viel Unterstützung angeboten hatte. Diese Entscheidung treffen wir obwohl oder insbesondere weil der Vorverkauf bis heute all unsere Erwartungen bei weitem übertroffen hat... Wir bitten auf diesem Weg all jene um Entschuldigung, die unserem Fest einen Eintrag in ihrem Partykalender gewidmet haben. Selbstverständlich werden bereits verkauften Karten in den nächsten Tagen zurückerstattet... Es würde uns freuen, wenn Ihr 2011 dabei seid.
