.. .. OUR BRAND NEW VIDEO! .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ****CLICK THE IMAGE ABOVE TO GET FREE DOWNLOADS!!!**** .. .. .. Born out of the original punk and hip hop ethos of producing music with a social narrative, London’s INNER CITY DWELLERS, are the voice of Britain’s socially-disaffected youth culture. Taking over from where the likes of The Clash, Discharge and The Sex Pistols left off, ICD’s mix of abrasive, metallic guitar riffs and articulate, 'estate-culture' rapping place the band firmly at the core of contemporary rock and urban music. With the emphasis for their first EP / album being on their 'broken Britain' stance, they are readily able to connect with the younger generation of music consumers and put out huge tracks with a positive message. .. .. Frontman Patrick Williams is perhaps best known in the drum n bass scene as MC Rage. Having toured internationally for ten years as tour MC for the likes of Goldie and Pendulum, playing all the major global festivals, Williams has most recently been the resident live and DJ MC for Chase & Status. Patrick cites influences from Gallows, Rage Against The Machine and The Clash to Plan B, Mos Def, Steel Pulse and Lowkey. .. .. Williams, born and bred in the East End of London, personifies the passion and commitment of the bands socially-aware agenda and admits to a desire to offer the youth culture something different for a change. He says, “We’re trying to pull away from the mediocrity that the industry claims is the next big thing. In truth the next big thing has had five of the same coming before them and they’ll have another five waiting behind them. Well, we’re here with our own style and own message". .. .. He continues, "...the broken Britain angle is important to us. We dedicate the music to 2008 at the moment; the year in which knives claimed the lives of so many British youths. But kids need to know that there's more outside their front door than pain and anguish. There's a direction, a path to choose". .. .. Musically, the band offer up a combination of solid metal riffs, stadium-rock hooks and dreamy soundscapes. Sam, Chris, Jake and Stephan are all graduates of the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford and they combine perfectly to create a sound that is tight, solid and full of energy. .. .. The band has gone from strength to strength in the last few years. Following a hugely successful appearance at Manchester’s In The City festival, the band landed the support slot on Roni Size’s sold-out UK tour. One trip to Europe to play at the Nokia and T-Mobile-sponsored SPRINGeight festival in Austria alongside The Streets, Roni Size and Robyn was followed by another, this time to Poland for an appearance at international music festival Boogie Brain which was also deemed a success. ICD continue to sell out venues like the Underworld (Camden), the Boileroom (Guildford) and the Peel (Kingston) and build upon their fanbase which is growing rapidly. .. .. The result of spending the end of 2009 writing and rehearsing new material is a brand new EP which will be released in Spring 2010. The band aim to use this to further increase industry and consumer awareness of their music. .. .. Inner City Dwellers deliver a fresh and original style of rap metal that will excite all rock and urban music fans. The positive and socially-aware lyrical content further heightens the band’s current relevance, charm and appeal. The industry connections that the band has will only increase the hype surrounding them. This band, however, justify that hype completely and it wont be long until they are taking the UK by storm. .. .. .. ......................................................................................................................................... .. .. .. .. ****EXCLUSIVE!
