i love rock music from green day to trivium. best cd ive bought recently was the roadrunner united all star sessions - wicked collection of a wide variety of guitar and vocal styles. also love films, comedy, cooking, watching football and rugby(union, not the ponces version!!!) going to gigs, and spending time with my beautiful daughters.Music
where do i start!!!! classic rock like iron maiden, metallica, acdc, guns and roses, slayer, sepultura, early alice cooper, wolfsbane and blaze of course. other favorites such as green day, chilli peppers, foo fighters, some stereophonics, on to bands like trivium, my chemical romance, recent slipknot, killswitch engage, queens of the stone age, coheed and cambria, atreyu, alkaline trio, and so on.also classic punk clash, buzzcocks, ramones, damned(carys s middle name is eloise!!) i'll give any band a listen, provided its guitar led. my girls love real music too, having been brought up with NWOBHM and both keen to learn their own instruments.Movies
from old classics like elephant man, king kong, the ealing comedies, italian job etc, to recent films like harry potter, lord of the rings ( wow i'm a cliche!) knights tale, shaun of the dead, hot fuzz, saw, hostel, star wars, and so on. old 70s horror is also a fave. evil dead, american werewolf, friday 13th, amityville, hills have eyes(not the freddy films - they were pants!!). like music, i would rather see a film and think its crap than not see it and not know!Television
i love comedy -little britain, phoenix nights, max and paddy, red dwarf, spaced, monty python, young ones, bottom, the simpsons, you get the picture. i loved sex in the city, and im currently addicted to lost!!!!. Other than that i tend to watch the documentaries so i sound clever at work the next day.Books
i will read anything and every thing. from the ubiquitous harry potter, lord of the rings and dan brown books (has anyone alive NOT read davinci code?) to clockwork orange, day of the triffids, alice sebolds "lovely bones", and "lucky", james herbert, shaun hutson (Another fruitloop!), some stephen king to name but a few. ill read anything on recommendation, especially new authors. alos love biogs, just read scar tissue by keidisHeroes
musically, its guys like bruce dickinson (wicked radio show on radio 6!!!), axl rose even though he is a fruit cake, james hetfield, john peel - the whole "try it before you slag it off " thing is a good philsosophy to have. sporting heroes include eric cantona for being himself (again another fruitcake!), martin johnson cos he let me hold the rugby world cup!!!!!!!, and anyone who can score goals against germany or argentina cos im THAT sad! other than that i meet people at work every day who inspire me to make the best of what ive got, and to try harder to acheive my goals. When somebody has had a tumour removed from their brain, or a leg amputated, and they are determined to stand and walk despite the fact that theyre exhausted or in massive pain, now thats a hero. ill shut up now.

About me:
im married (near enough!!!!) with two daughters, Rhiannon,11, and Carys, 9, who both cut their teeth on real music, and love bands from queen to green day. im a physiotherapist, which means i get paid to inflict pain on people, and they say thankyou very much afterwards (and they think metal fans are warped!!!). the first band i went to see live was iron maiden, but my favourite band ever to go and see were wolfsbane. it didnt matter wether it was the rathole in tamworth, or the marquee in london, they put their heart and soul into every gig, and you could feel it. After a few years out of it (young family and a degree!!) we are getting back into the heart of local music, going to gigs and discovering new bands and revisiting old favourites (8 ball joe anyone?). apart from music i love films, the cornier the better, comedy, ditto, watching football and rugby (go on the tigers!!!!)Who I'd like to meet:
people around the midlands who love the local music scene. If you remember the old tamworth rock scene, the infamous rock festival and battle of the band competition, and the days of Hamlets, rockwells and the rathole, then we can remember the good times and grow old disgracefully!!!Details
