Bio
.. .. Having spent the last 6 months peddling their wares as The GodSquad, and having encountered the question "are you a religious band?" one two many times, The Saturdays feel it is time to set the record straight and put paid to any lasting confusion regarding thier religious orientation. In doing this they wish to, respectfully, distance themselves from any connection with the almighty and indeed his zealous ambassadors on earth. What they do not wish to distance themselves in any way from is the shamelessly Britpop influenced, guitar and melody driven, foot tapping indie pop for which (they hope) they have become known. Still comprising: Fil Surtees on vocals and guitar, still striving for that mix of a nostalgic reminiscience of youth coupled with a quirky aloofness born of the emerging metrosexual man. Sam Pamphilon on drums and backing vocals, still striving for the loose wristed anti-rhythmic hotch potch that has defined great indie drummers for years, whilst holding on to both drumsticks for an entire song. Rodrigo Lemos-Nunes on Bass guitar and dancing, Still wondering how he got involved with such a fly by night operation, how long a run of such unmitigated organisational disasters can last, and how little notice he will get before the next gig/rehearsal. Named after the 'Saturdays of fun' enjoyed by many of their associates in North London in the early 21st Century, The Saturdays wish to embrace weekend culture, give it a catchy chorus and sing it to the masses. Enjoy. -
