Bio
Well I've been playing with myself for a long time now... sometimes other people let me play with them. My E.P. is called Ms Fi & the MisFits in Songs from the City of Edinburgh. You can buy mp3 downloads from www.scotloads.co.uk/ or buy the cd in all its slendid artwork glory online from www.secretcds.co. I write songs because I can't help it. I also play acoustic and electric guitar. I do the vocal stuff aswell. "Fiona's ability to craft her lyrics so that they echo the sentiments of the melody, without losing their story telling capacity is admirable" OOTB review -

Me. This is myspace where I put up my stuff. Sometimes this will be me working with other people - the Flowers - Flowers for Algernon, or Jamie in YVK9V, or maybe you someday who knows? for my last EP I worked with Norman Lamont, Les Makin, Karen Austin and Nelson Wright not forgetting Lindsay Sugden doing some glock all at Daniel Davis' Windmill Sound studio. Recently the Thom Boys - Norman, Sam Barber and the G have been backing me. -
Influences
everything I have ever heard, seen, touched, smelt or felt. If it surprises me, if it says it well, if the tune is memorable; it all makes a good impression. ok colours to the mast here are some songs/albums and people I love: the girl from ipanema; night and day, after you (most of Cole Porter), i believe - Robert Plant; Spread your wings - Deacon (Queen); Over the Hill - John Martyn; King of Bohemia - R. Thompson (most of his stuff); Separte Ways - T. Thompson; Factory - M. Wainwright; Pretty Good Day - L. Wainwright; breathe - prodigy; teardrop - massive attack; A&E - Goldfrapp; la tristesse durera - Manic Street Preachers; Starless - King Crimon; that's not my name -Ting Tings; jolene - dolly parton; the black hills of dakota from Calamity Jane; 50's musicals on film; Kiss me Kate; ooo too many - the world is bursting with great songs! Fairport Convention; Back in black, highway to hell; dirty deeds done dirt cheap - AC/DC; GONG! Hawkwind; i dunno: Rufus Wainwright; Lemon Jelly; Dr. John; Pixies; frank black; led zeppelin, the beatles, the kinks, the bonzo dog band; Ivor Cutler; Tom Lehrer; Tom Waites; Joni Mitchell; Kate Bush; Suzanne Vega; Blondie; Dylan; Donovan, Stevie Wonder, Al Green; Lily Allen; George Melly; the Andrews Sisters and it goes on and on throat singing; burundi drumming; latin rhythms; flamenco guitar; gypsy violin; beethoven; bach; mussorgski; verdi; puccini... -

Bio:
Well I've been playing with myself for a long time now... sometimes other people let me play with them, but not for very long. I collaborate with Jamie in YV9VV. I was in Flowers for Algernon and went from backing vocals, to some lead electric guitar, lead vocals, tunes. Still waiting for the posthumous Flowers for Algernon EP - it will have some of my song songs on it. I am currently without a full time band to play in. I inveigled some friends to play on my forthcoming EP. See blog for details. It will be available this spring/summer, as am I. My new CD is called Ms Fi & the MisFits in Songs from the City of Edinburgh. You can buy mp3 downloads from www.scotloads.co.uk/ or buy the cd in all its slendid artwork glory online from www.secretcds.co.uk/ I am available to play, sing, make weird noises for whoever asks. I am also looking for folk to play gigs with. I call myself a songwriter first and foremost. I write songs because I can't help it. I also play acoustic and electric guitar. I do the vocal stuff aswell. "Fiona's ability to craft her lyrics so that they echo the sentiments of the melody, without losing their story telling capacity is admirable" OOTB review
