    Production trainee:
    This is a non-paid position for a runner/driver role working out of the Faintheart production office in Bewdley, Worcestershire for a period of two weeks. You must live within 20 miles of the production office, have your own car and a valid driver's license and be available to work from 22nd Oct- 24th Nov 07. The role requires long hours and lots of errands however there will be time on set and a great environment in which to learn first hand feature film production experience. We are looking for someone bright, enthusiastic, very hard working  and willing to learn.     Trainee Costume Department Assistant-
    This is a trainee role working for the Costume Department on the feature film Faintheart. You will need live within 20 miles of the Production office in Bewdley, Worcestershire, have your own car and a valid driver's license and be available to work from 17th Oct for 2 weeks work with the possibility of longer (until 24th Nov- please do state your availability). We are looking for someone who is eager, intuitive and a team player who is not afraid of hard work. Any sewing skills would prove advantageous to the winning applicant. If you have a keen interest in costume, fashion, film and learning first hand how these come together through the Costume Department then please send in a resume to fhcrew@vertigofilms.com with 'Trainee Costume Department Assistant' stated clearly in the subject line.

    A non-paid trainee role that consists of working for the Art Director, covering all aspects of the Art Department role in the feature film. You must live within 20 miles of the Production office in Bewdley, Worcestershire and have your own car and a valid driver's license. Ownership of your laptop and digital camera would also be a bonus. Please do state if you have previous film/ TV/ commercials Art Department experience which would be helpful but not necessary. You must be enthusiastic, eager to learn and ready to work long hours! We would be looking for someone ideally who is available from 8th Oct- 24th Nov (please do state your availability in the email).     Trainee Sound Department Assistant
    This is a trainee role working for the Sound Department on the feature film Faintheart. You will need live within 20 miles of the Production office in Bewdley, Worcestershire, have your own car and a valid driver's license and be available to work from 22nd Oct- 24th Nov. We are looking for someone who is assertive, hard working and with real common sense.     Trainee Marketing and Publicity Assistant (during shoot)
    This is an opportunity to shadow the Marketing and PR Director at Vertigo Films during the shoot. You will need to be based within 20 miles of the production office in Bewdley, Worcestershire and have your own car and a valid driver's license. This is essentially a hospitality role, meeting and greeting press and photographers visiting the set. You must be confident, assertive and have a professional and outgoing attitude and be available for selected days (10 days at most) from 22nd Oct- 24th Nov (please state your availability in the email). Please send in a resume to fhcrew@vertigofilms.com with 'Trainee Marketing and Publicity Assistant' stated clearly in the subject line.

    Trainee Marketing and Publicity Assistant     (after shoot)
    This is an opportunity to shadow the Marketing and PR Director at Vertigo Films following the end of the shoot. You will need to be based in London or within easy commutable distance, the position is non-paid but we will cover daily travel costs. The role entails shadowing the Marketing Department Head and is a 'learning by doing' job. You must be proficient in Photoshop and have a basic working knowledge of Final Cut Pro.     'Making Of' Cameraman
    A role for an aspiring cameraman to shoot additional footage for the Making Of and Press Kits. The position will entail spending time on set and following the action and conducting on-set interviews with crew and cast. You must have your own camera kit to use for the duration of the shoot, the production will provide you with tape stock and we will meet expenses. You must live within an hour's drive at most of the production office at Bewdley, Worcestershire, have access to your own car and a valid driver's license and be available for selected days (10 days at most) from 22nd Oct- 24th Nov (please state your availability in the email). Camera experience is absolutely necessary. Please send in a resume to fhcrew@vertigofilms.com with 'Making Of Cameraman' stated clearly in the subject line.

    Additional Stills Photographer
    A role for an aspiring professional stills photographer. We are looking for someone with their own camera kit to take stills that will be used in the promotion of the film. We will cover all development costs and related expenses. You must live within an hour's drive at most of the production office at Bewdley, Worcestershire, have access to your own car and a valid driver's license and be available for selected days (10 days at most) from 22nd Oct- 24th Nov (please state your availability in the email).     "Do you want to be a background artist in the film FAINTHEART made in association with Myspace and Film4? We are currently looking for crowd extras for various scenes in the movie. If you want to take part you will need to be available to come to set on selected day/s from 22nd Oct- 1st Dec 07 in the Worcester/ South West Midlands area (will often mean early morning and/or late evenings). Email 2 photos of yourself (one full length and one head shot) and complete the following questionnaire and send to faintheart {at} vertigofilms.com. If you are successful you will be contacted directly by a member of the Vertigo production team."

  • Faintheart needs a storyboard artist

    We are looking for someone who is skilled at drawing/illustration to complete storyboards for Faintheart.

    You must be based in London or within commutable distance and be available to meet around 31st August.

    You will also need to be available for first three weeks of September.

    Instructions
    Please post 5 frames (images) as comments on this page (wide shot, medium shots etc) based on the following scene:

    EXT. FIELD- DAY
    The ROMAN LEADER (ALAN- 40s, imposing, broad chested) raises his sword. The ROMANS halt. The two armies face each other, the VIKINGS savage; the ROMANS, inscrutable.
    A moment of silence. Even the wind seems to hold its breath; the calm before an almighty storm. ALAN raises his sword- the armies advance upon each other

    THE BLOODY BROADSWORDS' 'fight' with passion but very little skill. JULIAN (30s, slight of frame) tries a fancy move but his sword flies out of his hand.

    JULIAN sheepishly retrieves his sword.

    COLLIN (later 30s, a great bearded bear of a man) ROARS as he slashes wildly at the air. His ROMAN opponent stands back, bored, then jabs him- a 'kill'. COLLIN reluctantly falls down 'dead'
