    .. .. .. .. .. .... .. ............ .. .... I was born on Tyneside. I played Music. Still playing Music...... Earl came to London from Newcastle in 1977 and soon began to DJ at the Old Queen's Head in Brixton. He built a a sound system and installed it at The Dive Bar in Soho's Chinatown, London. The night became legendary as Earl began a 20 year residency in the dark underground venue. As Earl's reputation grew residencies followed at the famous Blue Note club in Hoxton, and at Plastic People, where he worked with Big Youth , Dennis Alcapone, Adrian Sherwood and Bobby Digital amongst others. Spells followed in which Earl toured as Big Youth's and Doctor Alimantado's DJ. He DJ'd the first three exhibitions of graffitti artist Banksy. Earl formed Roots and Reality Sound with Daddy Ad and, as links with the world's greatest reggae label, Trojan records, had become strong, the Sound gradually metamorphised into Trojan Sound System, for whom he remains selector. Earl's London residency is the Rootikal night at East Village where he performs alongside David Rodigan

    Welcome to the next two Reggaewise Crew sessions at the Surya Centre entitled Jah Love Dub.
    A positive message, good vibes, everyone is welcome.



    Sunday 21st November
    The third session sees the return to Surya of London's Ras Terry Gad playing warrior style roots and positive dub.
    He is joined by Ajay of Spaceship Sound from Spain. Ajay plays on Sounds From The Spaceship radio show with classic roots and new style steppas.


    Sunday 5th December
    Mighty Laous from Open The Gate's Reggae Unity selects rootikal style.
    Alongside Ital P from Italy's new roots and UK style selections.


    Both session feature the sounds of Reggaewise Crew (Rick I Selector and Baba Jonah) with guest MC's passing through.

    Welcome to the lauch night of Reggaewise Crew's residency.

    Reggaewise is Rick I Selector (Colombia) and Baba Jonah (UK) and we aim to uplift the dance with a positive roots vibration and the message of Rastafari by playing classic roots style to the latest roots selections and heavyweight dubwise inna soundman style - vinyl only!

    We welcome the following special guests for the first night of Reggaewise in Residence:


    Binghyman - Runs the Djolof Roots night in Camden as well as selecting ruff tunes as a selector on Djolof Sound.  Djolof has hosted sounds such as Channel One and Aba Shanti as well as showcasing the best in new worldwide vocal talents and bands inna rootsman style.

    Sister Lexxy - Live PA set by the South London roots sister who voiced Dem History (Roots Injection) and Lead Me To The Rock (Jah Shaka), among many more rootikal tunes.

    Ras Terry Gad - worked with Jah Trinity soundsystem in the 1980s and later with with Channel One.  He now spreads the positive message of Rastafari through various roots session around the world as a selector. 

    A night of unity - all tribes welcome.

    Heavyweight roots and dub! From the foundation to new sensation!
