SATURDAY 20th JUNE 12noon - 7pm Bruce Castle Park, Lordship Lane, London N17 .. .. A Carnival within a Carnival, Representing Latin America in North London's Oldest and Biggest Growing Street Community Festival and Carnival .. .. ...... .. .. Carnaval Latino @ the Tottenham Carnival - north London's biggest street community festival and carnival, brings together the Latin American community in the area with other communities to celebrate the cultural diversity present in Haringey through activities common to all. Over 60,000 people are expected to attend the Tottenham Carnival activities, to fully experience such unique showcase of different colours, tastes and sounds. Since last year the Latin American community of north London has become more involved in the Tottenham Carnival. Carnaval Latino will provide an excellent opportunity to celebrate cultural exchange and understanding between the different cultural groups in the area, as well as reaffirming the growing involvement of Latin Americans as active members of the community in Haringey. They have become an important addition to the celebrations, bringing new energy, colourfulness and exuberance to the Tottenham Carnival. CARNAVAL LATINO will feature amongst other activities and attractions: - Latin American floats in the Tottenham Carnival Parade earlier in the day - The Inti Raymi – the Andean New Year celebrations - Some of the best local Artists from the Latin American community in London - Children and elderly dance groups - Folk dance groups from various countries - A Latin American dance tent with classes in different Latin American dance styles - Children's activities - Latin DJs - A Latin Village, with Latin American stalls - Latin American food and drinks .. .. Annual float procession with the participation of eleven Latin American countries - the largest Latin American out-door event in Europe. Held in London since 1999, Carnaval del Pueblo is the largest Latin American out-door festival in Europe, attracting over 130,000 people from diverse backgrounds in a day of Latin music, dance and fun. Carnaval del Pueblo is the event of the year for all Latinos and lovers of their culture. Londoners of all communities come together and share this intense cultural experience. The festival brings a Latin experience to London with a carnival procession, Latin American artists on 4 different areas and many other activities in Burgess Park.
