From garage DJ to playing local house parties in Colorado, Ben Shelton developed his skills playing a unique mix of NRG and hard house. Ben moved back to Seattle in 2001 and quickly familiarized himself with the local underground. Three years later, after an awe inspiring vacation to Ibiza, Ben experienced a massive change of scenery. House music. Shortly after, he and 3 other DJ's established Subsidize and showcased some of Seattle's best house talent at "Why Not Wednesdays" at Watertown. This year, having already played gigs in in Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, and at the legendary Nikki Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Ben has his sights set on a whole new group of club kids. Whether rocking Seattle's finest night clubs, or annihilating a 3 day outdoor, you will always find Ben spinning filthy bass lines and bright progressive melodies that destroy dancefloors.

Subsidize was founded on the principle that good house music should be accessible to all, with no bias on whether or not there is $$$ in your pocket. Subsidize started in 2004 as a vehicle for promoting what would turn out to be Why Not Wednesdays? @ Watertown in Seattle. The members of this crew continue to push the limits of contemporary clubing and create a better environment through the prolification of ill beats.
