Before I fully committed my life to getting pelted in the head with jabs and hooks for money, I did a bit of modelling. I was a model for Versace and Abercrombie & Fitch during my cleaner-cut years.

About Me...
My name is David 'The Hayemaker' Haye and I am the current undisputed WBC, WBA, WBO and 'The Ring' Magazine cruiserweight champion of the world. My record is 21-1 (20 KO's), and I have been a professional boxer since December 2002.
As well as winning the undisputed WBC, WBA, WBO & 'The Ring' Magazine (all the marbles) world titles, I have also won the European and English cruiserweight championships as a pro. I successfully defended the European cruiserweight title three times before being awarded my shot at the undisputed world cruiserweight title against Jean-Marc Mormeck in November 2007.
As an amateur, I was the second best heavyweight in the world. I won the silver medal at the 2001 World Amateur Championships and was the first British fighter in history to get to the final of that particular competition.
Aside from boxing, I also did a little bit of modelling during my cleaner cut years. However, my thirst for beating the hell out of people soon overtook my desire to stand in front of cameras all day. I thought: 'Why would I want to earn a living posing in front of a camera, when I could get brain damage fighting in front of millions of people?'
In my mind, it all made sense.
I turned professional in December 2002, and 21 of my 22 pro bouts have been screened live on either BBC, Sky Sports, Setanta Sports or Showtime (US). I've also appeared on TV shows such as 'A Question Of Sport' and 'Soccer AM'.
I currently hold the most respected world titles in world boxing - the WBC, WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine belts - and I am universally recognised as the best cruiserweight fighter on the face of the Earth. I achieved this accolade on November 10, 2007 by knocking out former undisputed world champion Jean-Marc Mormeck in seven rounds. In order to complete my dream of becoming undisputed cruiserweight king I had to travel to Paris, France to knock Mormeck out. After only 21 fights as a pro, I managed to do just that.
As well as holding the WBC, WBA and WBO world titles, I am also recognised as 'The Ring' Magazine champion at cruiserweight. This is an independent title awarded to The Man in each weight category, so is something that holds more weight than a lot of the so-called 'world titles' out there.
I am looking to eventually fill Lennox Lewis' boots as Great Britain's next great heavyweight champion. Now that my goal at cruiserweight is prtety much accomplished, the heavyweight division will soon beckon. Within three years I will achieve exactly the same as what I achieved at cruiserweight - domination of the heavyweight division. I won't just be content with a title - I want to be universally recognised and respected as the number one heavyweight on the planet.
On April 27, 2006, I competed in my first heavyweight fight against Poland's Tomasz Bonin - a man ranked 11 in the world by the WBC. The fight was billed as a 'heavyweight teaser' - a risky interim fight at heavyweight while I patiently waited for my due WBC world cruiserweight title shot. Needless to say, I knocked Bonin out inside 105 seconds of the first round! A sign of things to come...
I have, therefore, already made some kind of statement at heavyweight. No fighter since Evander Holyfield has managed to become Undisputed champion at both cruiserweight and heavyweight. With the combination of my experience with heavyweights in the amateurs, and my concussive power and speed, I'm hopeful of eventually replicating what 'The Real Deal' achieved before me. There will be doubters along the way, but these doubters were no doubt the same people who never believed I could become the best cruiserweight in the world.
Although I was intending to step up to heavyweight as soon as Mormeck was counted out in Paris, I decided to stick around at cruiserweight for one final fight. This final fight occured on March 8 against my long-time rival and fellow world champion (WBO) Enzo Maccarinelli, from Swansea, Wales.
The fight, which took place at South London's amazing O2 Arena, was billed as the biggest all-British blockbuster for over 15 years. Yet, despite many people picking Enzo to beat me, 'The Hayemaker' duly delivered. I knocked out Maccarinelli in the second round of a scheduled 12-rounder. The demolition was screened live on both Setanta in the UK and Showtime in the USA. Dusting off Enzo Maccarinelli was the final piece in my cruiserweight jigsaw.
I'm now going to start collecting all the pieces for my heavyweight puzzle...
