Welcome to the world of Curryhead! .... Curryhead was registered as a band name with www.bandname.com 4th August 2007. If you are a band and want to protect your name drop by their site and get yourself registed pronto. .... A bit about me and the band. Well to start off with I am the band, just me my guitars and my studio. All elements of my music are created entirely by me and that’s the way I like it. This musical journey of mine is about me getting the music out of my head, onto CD/MP3 and into your head through the wonders of the Internet. .... I’m a recording artist rather than a performing atrist, in fact I have no desire to perform any of my songs in some sort of live venue. Once I have written a song and recorded it I rarely go back and play it again. I like to make the music I write be a statement of where I’m at for the specific point in time. I keep a basic outline of the chord structures but never keep any record of the lead guitar work. The lead lines are developed over several hours of constant playing over the chord structure again and again. This ensures that the song progresses as my mind works out what will fit the chord structure and the particular mood I’m in at the time. The final result is a lead line that is always done in a single take. .... I have 2 styles, one that is a throw back to my days of listening to punk and new wave and the other more instrumental progressive rock. I like both styles equally. .... I like to use technology to create and collaborate so would always be interested to hear from people who perhaps have a song but need a guitar track laid down for it. You could just mail me the song along with the important stuff like the tempo and key and I could work on something. .... I’m also now expanding into video as music and video go hand in hand these days. So watch out for some video postings to go with the tunes. Should be fun.. One I get the hang of the video editor that is... .... I use a fair bit of gear these days to get the sounds I’m after for the band. Ok here is a little bit of info about the gear Curryhead uses. .. My set up consists of the following kit. .. Boss 1600CD 16 track digital studio.. Shure SM57 mike.. Ibanez Jem555.. Gibson Les Paul Studio.. BC Rich Platinum Virgin.. Tanglewood semi accoustic.. Yamaha accoustic.. Wesley purple perspex.. Fender Strat (Japanese Squire).. Westone Thunder I Bass.. Strat style home-made jobby.. Stagg Bongo.. Fender Telecaster.. Epiphone Les Paul special Hot Rod.. Meledy f-hole semi accoustic.. Epiphone flying V.. .. and most important of all...... .. B E E R!!! .... An important aspect of the sound is the strings I use for my guitars. I can highly recommend Steinman strings. Check them out, they are great strings at great prices.
