The previous Cthulhu Brothers Myspace blog posting has been viewed six times. We have to suppose most people knew in advance what foolishness it contained and chose not to read it. So this one will include some very substantial and profound musings. So many will wish to read that it will rescue Myspace from its current teetering on the brink of oblivion.
We had to think very hard about the composition of this posting. We had to start with a lengthy consideration of our own philosophical underpinnings and preferences, the necessity of nuance, the revelling in obliquity, the sideways glance, the emergence of evil from good components. The disintegration of identity: music should combat it by evoking a reaction so extreme, so singular that it cannot simply be tossed into the great homogenising blender of social media.
we started with avant-garde tastes, moved on to musical inadequacy but progressed anyway to the third level of conshy-ess-ness. In the fourth level of Myspace the individual fused with the general. Now we're alone again. We reached our zenith, our apogee and now we're sliding back to the outer darkness where no doubt we belong. Should we try to evolve to the Twittersphere? Where has everybody else gone? We feel like the B Ark people after the Dolphins left.
Anyway we thought we'd share some Myspace discoveries.
UFOs have landed. They disgorge people whose concerted breath becomes the wind of late capitalism.
Intense sex is subversive. The more intense, the more you bring the government down.
Sausages are sentient. But to varying degrees dependent on their country of origin.
It is not necessary to watch television to know what it's telling you.
"Unknown unknown" featuring old Cthulhu Bros trademarks: mild chromaticism, syncopation within acceptable limits, words from a world without furniture.
The buzz for You No Good Music hasn't even started yet but we're already looking forward, carving out new compositional strategies, importing sounds from the future, chipping away at the boundaries of what's possible without practicing. Gaussian Romance is No 1 on the Metaluna hit parade so we thought it only fair to share with earthlings.
