Floyd was born in the red hills of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and raised in Gary,Indiana the hometown of the famous Jackson Family. At a very early age he showed a great love for music.His late beloved father Pastor Floyd Sr..told him at 6months old, he'd shake his baby bed and hum a little tune in time.Floyd sung his first public solo at four years of age at the Galilee Baptist Church in the City of Gary. He first begin paying his dues in the church and then onto local stages.Singing and playing is what he loves to do and lately his live performances say, he's ready to do it on a much grander scale! Tried and true, a diamond in the raw,always working while waiting patiently for the right door to be opened!It's been said that today's R&B sounds manufactured and a lot alike, but you will find Floyd D.'s music to be very unique served up straight from his soul!A exciting singer and performer,his music is reminiscent of yesteryear, but still relevant and contemporary ,"Sumthins Got To Give" is very unique, a musical merger of both old and new school,as Big Floyd delievers the funky vocals and Lil Floyd rips the rap!But as big Floyd says,good music is timeless and good music, is just good music! Floyd's not here to validate himself,he's simply hear to do what he does and has been doing for many years,make soulful music!There are many sides to Floyd D., to many to list here, so if you want to know more about him,I guess you'll just have to ask.
